FOUR SEASONS PENINSULA PAPAGAYO VIDEO

costa-rica-natalie-suarez-travel-10-1245

One final recap from our Costa Rica trip earlier this year. I can’t believe that was almost 4 months ago! I still remember that trip like it happened yesterday though. What an amazing experience it was with my sister Dylana, our friend Kiara and her boyfriend Mike. We spent the first half of our time in Costa Rica staying at the Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo. My favorite part of our stay there was the easy access to the beach and the unlimited opportunities to get adventurous in the water. We surfed, we paddle boarded, zip lined and jet skied our way through our part of Costa Rica. We went wild, and we got tan, and we danced to local music. It was such a freeing experience. But although we were adventurous most of the time we did get to relax for a little bit, too. Massages and some time at the hydro therapy spa. My body felt renewed. I wish I could go back and relive it all again. And again. And again.

Well, at least now I can with this video we made with footage from our trip. Check it out below and follow my YOUTUBE. Filmed by Mike Bish

Cinq à Sept | PARIS

natalie-suarez-paris-four-seasons-21

Cinq à sept is the French term for the moments linking late afternoon with early evening. The intriguing time of the day where anything is possible. Where you can grab a cocktail with mystery boy at the bar, or slip away…unknown during these after-work hours. I fell in love with this new contemporary brand the moment I slipped on this dress from the Pre-Fall collection. Its embroidered stars and flowers were made for Paris moments like these, here in my room at the Four Seasons, George V. My gal pal Haleigh snagged these beautiful photos while getting dressed for a work dinner in the Champs-Élysées. There’s something so sexy about this hotel. The lobby was exploding with bouquets of freshly cut white flowers. But best of all, the rooms. I’ve always dreamt of having a special yellow room in my house and this one is the perfect inspiration. Yellow carpets. Decadent yellow walls. Yellow pillows and chairs the color of a banana. And a ladybug on the wall that just wouldn’t leave during my stay. It’s true that some of my favorite photos are taken by my friends. In your most natural and comfortable state. Cinq à sept. I threw on my shaggy lavender vest and off we went. Paris, I love you.

OSHEAGA MUSIC FESTIVAL

osheaga-dynamite-natalie-suarez-off-duty-6-1

There is always something going on in Montreal in the summertime. It my first time visiting this French city and not only did I fall in love with the charming Old Port and awesome food scene, but also the music. Osheaga Music Festival was for sure hot and steamy, but overall the music made it well worth those long lines to the food trucks and sticky crowds. Especially once the sun went down overhead, everyone seemed to mellow out. Talk about sun drunk. We were shooting with the Dynamite team and that made dressing for the festival extra easy. Halter dresses. The classic black bodysuit. And the perfect baby tanks.  We plopped down with some wine for Leon Bridges, Radiohead, and Haim….a few of my festival favorites that I always make sure to see while I’m traveling from city to city. Somehow, festivals never get old. You think “how am i going to survive this weekend?” I’ve already done SXSW, Coachella, and Bonnaroo this summer and man was it exhausting. But it’s all about those hilarious and wild and wacky memories that come with trekking it through these music festivals. Going home with sneakers so dirty you can’t even touch them, let alone look at them. Dealing with the dude who just cut in line for the port a potty’s. And managing to stay hydrated and squeeze in that mini nap on a hammock. You just gotta stick through and feel the energy from the crowds the whole way through. I think I’ve conquered festival season this year. Until the next one!

A GLASS OF SUNSHINE

vancouver-canada-natalie-suarez-travel-7-0009

The first thing I thought once I arrived in Vancouver was…”I could totally live here!” It’s rare I say that about any city since I’m so New York and so California. But Vancouver has a bit of both embedded in it. There’s the city glass sky scrapers. Then there is the up-and-coming food scene that reminds me so much of the cute little restaurants like here in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Then there are the beaches and beautiful views and open spaces much like Los Angeles. Not to mention a sunset unlike any other! It’s nice having the best of both worlds all in one special place. It was a foggy morning and the first thing we did on our day off was bike the stunning Stanley Park. Any place where you can travel entirely by bike is pretty amazing. Hopping on a bike is freedom. The freedom of your hair blowing in the wind. Feeling totally energized and refreshed. Nothing beats a long, exhilarating bike ride and then sitting down with friends for a good beer. Go to 33 Acres brewery and get a glass of Sunshine.

GO TO:

1. 33 Acres Brewery (15 West 8th Ave): Super rad locals spot for booze.

2. Stanley State Park: Bike the entire park early in the AM to see the fog roll in.

3. The Locavore Food Truck: On a farm in Squamish outside the city, on the road to Whistler. The perfect little pit-stop for some farm-fresh paninis.

4. Lighthouse Park: On the North Shore. Make a picnic with friends and sit high overlooking the cliffs.

5. AnnaLena (1809 West 1st Avenue): Super chic spot in the city. Go here for dinner and get the buttermilk fried chicken.

6. Scandinave Spa Whistler: Totally worth the 2-3 hour scenic drive from the city! It’s the most beautiful outdoor spa ever. You jump from all the different plunge pools. From cold to hot, to the steam room, to the nap room. Treat yo-self.
