24 Hours in OHIO

natalie-suarez-macys-ohio-4

This year has brought me all over the world. All the way from Paris to the charming Columbus, Ohio! I was hosting the Macy’s Front Row event, and I feel lucky to have met such amazing readers that came by to watch the show. Even if I was only in town for 24 hours. I’m now completely used to visiting a new city for such a short time. My work has been like that since I started modeling at 15, and hasn’t changed one bit. I love every minute of it. It always comes with very little sleep and one packed carry-on luggage. (I always just go for denim, denim, and more denim. This fringed pair by 3×1 is a new favorite). We had one night out in the atistic Short North District. Go for the truffle mushroom pizza at Marcello’s and a margherita at Bakersfield. Mmmmhmm.

ONE WITH NATURE | THE VIDEO

How did summer just happen to fly by? Summer for me was all about adventuring, living out of a suitcase, and fully soaking in the present moment. With eyes wide open and an open heart. In Nicaragua, I had my GoPro permanantely glued to my hand. Documenting every lovely moment. From diving into the crashing waves of Playa Maderas to being stranded on the beautiful Jicaro Island. Romantic. Beautiful. Breathtaking. Watch the video below. You may also catch a little glimpse into my forever growing bikini collection. Enjoy.

NICARAGUA ON HORSEBACK

truereligion-3

Sunsets in Nicaragua are absolutely stunning. We decided to ride horseback to the beach for that dreamy moment. 4:45pm get on horseback. 6:15pm finally arrive on the beach just in time for that pastel pink sky that somehow turns a bright orange just before nightfall. What I love most is the freedom that comes with riding a horse. The cool breeze. Taking a much slower pace. Really getting to exlore what was around Maderas Village. Just the sound from the horse’s hooves and the monkeys howling in the trees. We galloped past farms and through dirt roads just as we felt a few raindrops hit our heads. Yes, it’s rain season in Nicaragua meaning we were just about to get completely soaked! Luckily, I came prepared. The entire trip, I have been living in the True Religion Audrey Boyfriend jean. Classic, and slightly baggy, but tapered at the hem. As the rain started to hit, I had to take off my beach cover up to stuff in my bag, to keep my camera safe through the storm. Leaving me with just jeans and a crochet bra. Now that’s island life attire. I quickly snapped some video on my GoPro (film to come soon!) at magic hour before jumping back on my horse. The warm bed in our hut and a watermelon margerita the only thing on my mind. We arrived totally drenched, but unable to stop smiling. And who doesn’t want to get kissed in the rain?

GIGLIO ISLAND

porto-santo-stefano-boat

I went behind the wheel of our tiny motor boat at Isola Giglio, a beautiful little island off the coast of Tuscany, Italy. We had nothing but the open sea and a soaked, torn map. As we sped past giant rocks surrounded the main land, we found peaceful little beaches on the coast to anchor down, and do some swimming. I went with just a classic black bikini, a cotton dress, and tons of sunscreen. As we started speeding, my hat flew straight into the ocean! Luckily, the sea was calm and I reached in a grabbed it before it completely disappeared. You can’t separate a girl and her hat. We were sun drunk and I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy. I couldn’t wait for a long nap on the way home. Our hotel deck was the perfect relaxtion spot for our last day in the dreamy Porto Santo Stefano. I did nothing but finish my book and practice flips with the boys. But we were craving pizza. And we wanted the best. So where to next?! NAPLES.
