PATTERN PLAY

pattern-play-3resized

When you open my closet, it’s honestly a mash-up of crazy prints, eclectic patterns, and wondrous textures. Vintage mixed with exotic finds from around the world. Where nothing matches, but unexpectedly does. I wouldn’t have it any other way. This gorgeous Cynthia Vincent piece is just one more to add into the collection. The colors reminding me of Mumbai, and the paislee print like out of the Woodstock sky. Subtract the ice and white snow outside my window, and you could say I’m in heaven.

TIME TO DECORATE

home-decor-nyc04home-decor-nyc-6

This month, I’m totally redecorated my apartment. I’m so excited for a clean new slate. New lamps. New paintings. Rugs. Fluffy pillows. With the new year, I want my home my sanctuary. Right now, it’s super minimal. I’ve got loads of windows and natural light, but have kept things super simple due to loads of traveling and rarely having a second to hit the home department. I steer clear of clutter, but I love unique and stand-out pieces. Handmade dream-catchers, a white fluffy bed, a tufted couch, and candles. ZEN. Take a walk through these amazing living spaces. Clean layouts, with a touch of quirky personality. Luxe but down to the earth. So inspired to take my NYC decor to the next level.

TRAVELING CIRCUS

pump7resizedTraveling circus. Traveling band. That get up, and get out of town, eclectic look. Your favorite fur oversize coat. Fringed leather miniskirt. And you can’t separate a girl from her best friend: her Jimmy Choos. It’s all about throwing on anything and everything and owning it. But it’s all in the hat. This baby was customized in Venice Beach by the incredible Nick Fouquet. I’ve always wanted a perfectly squared top hat, complete with a burnt brim and a match stick. So so clever, and it turned out wicked. Everyday is another reason to dress up. Even if I’m at home on a Sunday, it STILL feels good to put on a pair of heels…though it makes me over 6 feet. But whatever, nobody’s watching.

90’S CHILD

oneil1resizeddoodle

When I first saw the new O’neill collection, I thought: the 90’s. The striped shaggy sweaters. Floral kimonos. And psychadelic dip-dye dresses. All full of color and life. I took these California beach babe must-haves and added a bit of NYC edge to them. Take a peek at all 3 looks. Homage to my 90’s childhood. Complete with doodles of everything I had mashed up in my head. FLOWER POWER.

oneil2resizeddoodleoneil3resizeddoodleYep, I still own one pair of BRIGHT RED denim jeans. After wearing blues and blacks nearly everyday, I like to go bold. Paired with this retro striped sweater…the colors just work.

oneil4resizeddoodleoneil6resizeddoodleoneil5resizeddoodleI’m a sucker for kimonos and a good cup of coffee. It’s my go-to on the weekends. With a little faux fur, I glammed up this cozy ensemble.

oneil7resizeddoodleoneil9resizeddoodleoneil8resizeddoodleIt’s super hard to unplug sometimes, but believe me, I’m still daydreaming about fresh blooms and my next adventures. It’s all about planning something unplanned. I gave this extra bohemian maxidress a little more edge layered with a white bodysuit, and my favorite harness boots.
