There is something perfectly 90’s about this Armani Beauty lip. This shade #209 reminds me of the shades my mother wore growing up. Pretty rustic browns all over with fluffy bangs and a classic black turtleneck. Simply chic. I recently was back on set with the Armani Beauty team here in NYC and I can’t wait to show you what we’re working on next! It felt good to be back in the studio and working with a large crew! Suddenly, the world felt normal for just one moment. I am feeling extra lucky and grateful these days.
It is only the very first week of 2019 and it has already been insane and filled with excitement! I went straight from vacation straight into Golden Globes weekend! Did everyone relax on their couches last night with a big bag of popcorn to watch the awards? I got to kick off the new year here at the Chateau Marmont for the W Magazine Golden Globes party with my lovely Armani Beauty team. What a star-studded place to celebrate Golden Globes weekend! It’s not easy snapping back into work mode so quickly into the new year, but I will do anything for such an iconic night. Therefore, I slipped into this dazzling sequin Armani suit and stilettos for the red carpet. The Armani Beauty team came to my room to get me ready and I knew immediately after trying on my final look that I needed a very fierce, smokey eye. Heavy metals, my favorite. I kept the rest of my face really simple, with a nude/pink lip. As for my hair, just a tease at my root and a little cream through my ends. Voila. I’m easy. The quicker, the better. I’m so low key when it comes to getting red-carpet ready!
It’s my first time ever visiting the Chateau Marmont and besides rubbing elbows with all the Hollywood ingenues, I was certainly enjoying the suite life. This lovely suite had a super cool, retro kitchen and dusty pink bath tub. Oh, and you know me, I never go anywhere in LA without my entourage. By entourage, I mean my mom and dad. Being in Los Angeles for work allows me to spend more time with them. They enjoy getting to be a part of the glamorous part of my job. The travel, the hotels, the food, the scene, and the clothes. I love being able to share all of these fabulous moments with my family and friends. The Chateau Marmont is Old Hollywood at it’s finest. It feels completely untouched from the 1920’s. It’s certainly an interesting place to be. Dark and moody, the best spot in the house is at the bar by the pianist. W Magazine and Armani Beauty, thank you for transforming the penthouse into a stellar night celebrating “The Best Performances” this awards season!
The most amazing thing about Venice Film Festival and working with the Armani Beauty team is that I got to share this incredible week with my Mom. It’s rare we get to travel on work trips together, and this one felt super special. And in gorgeous and star-studded Venice, Italy…what more can a girl ask for? She loved all the glitz, glamour, the food, and most especially the makeup. You’ll see her below getting a little lip touch-up with the team. She made me laugh the entire time. I’m always so happy when I can get my family involved with what I do. It makes everything 100x more fun and memorable! Here we are in the Armani Beauty Stars press room. Think life-size makeup compacts and Rouge d’ Armani lipsticks in this gorgeous Venetian chateau. You’ll see a ton of red here because it’s the iconic Armani Beauty color. Firey, chic, and sophistcated. Red also happens to be one of my go-to colors, especially on my lips. For the Venice Film Festival, I alternated between a classic red lip in 400, a nude pink lip in Androgino, and a brown in Diva. Venice during the film festival is just absolutely magical. You never know who you will run into. Though we had a whirlwind week of shoots, press days, and the red carpet premiere of “A Star is Born” there was plenty of time in between to sit back on the boats and float slowly through the canals. We sipped on numerous Aperol spritzes like the locals. Now that is a dream.
I am currently writing from my hotel lobby here in Verona, Italy. These past few weeks have been insanity. With the campaign shoots to my clothing collection, launch press events, and now, over a week working in Italy for the Venice Film Festival. I’m glad to be back to writing after a week of absolute crazy. I had to pinch myself as I found these images of me on the red carpet of the ‘A Star Is Born’ screening during the 75th Venice Film Festival at Sala Grande in Lido! I feel so lucky to have an incredible Armani Beauty family. So far, we’ve already travelled all over Europe this past year from Paris to London and now Venice. Venice may have been the icing on the cake. I had my red carpet Giorgio Armani fitting back in NYC before we flew out and I think I tried on every single dress…from sequins to ruffles to chiffon. But there was something so special about this very simple, long and lean lace gown. It fit like an absolute glove. I knew it was the one. And with only 30 minutes to get ready before walking the carpet, we went with a simple red lip and clean face. My favorite red at the moment is Rouge d’ Armani Matte lipstick in #400. It’s that classic Old Hollywood “movie star” red that is my go-to for any red carpet event. I threw my hair up in a bun last second to show off these decadent earrings, and voila. I was ready. And even with the rain coming down on the red carpet, it still felt like magic. What a memorable night with my fellow Armani Beauty Stars followed by a team dinner with Cate Blanchett.
