THE DRESS AND THE VILLA – CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

I am still pinching myself after Cannes Film Festival. The south of France is truly magical. It’s a place I want to revisit and continue exploring. Endless beaches. Gorgeous little towns. Delicious, fresh food you can’t get anywhere else. I will be rolling out many stories with you from my Cannes getaway with Away and Grey Goose within the next few weeks, but I thought I’d share a little quick sneak peek at our stunning villa: Palais Away. Our villa was perched up high in the hills, with insane views of the ocean and the town below, glittering in the night. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the fresh air and buzz of the bees every single morning. I can only imagine how calm and quiet the town must be outside the film festival. Right now, Cannes has instantly been transformed into a Hollywood red carpet. Imagine going from hotel to hotel where everyone is sporting a black tie and dazzling, sparkling gowns. The more glamorous, the better. The gowns I wore were all super special to me and designed by one of my very best friends. Take a peek at this romantic number. A super low back, a full skirt, and sexy scarf hanging down the back. This is a shape that really accentuates the female body, making it swoon-worthy from every single angle and with every turn. It has a vintage touch thanks to the luxurious fabric and beautiful off-white color. It’s a dress that I want to keep in my closet forever and forever, just for the memories and stories behind it. Here I am in a  little hidden spot in the front of the villa. With spring, the property was in full bloom. There was so much green! I felt like I was living out a novel. had officially found my own secret garden.

Rancho Chilamate

It was a super hot afternoon at Rancho Chilamate in Nicaragua. This intimate Eco Lodge has 4 guest of rooms and a pool…located just a 10 minute horseback ride to the beach. I couldn’t help but stop and admire the ranch’s gorgeous horses as I took them on a little walk around the property. I’ve admired horses forever, and very rarely got close to them. My parents always said that this mystical creature was my spirit animal…and not only because I was long and lean with straight hair down to my bum. We had a black stallion painting in my home growing up and I’d stare at it….admiring it’s strength and beauty. It’s also because I’m born in the Chinese Year of the Horse! In my mind, they represent beauty and the freedom to run with the wind. For this afternoon, I blended in with my surrounding with a full linen look and sun hat. Nicaragua was hot and dry this past month as the rainy season will come in the summer months ahead. But I couldn’t have been happier. I plopped down by the pool with a Toña cerveza and looked up at the blue sky. I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

SILK STRIPES IN PARIS

The view from the rooftop restaurant at Terrass Hotel is insane. Dylana and I had a luxurious night in Paris with pasta, wine, and a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower. Montmarte is a special place. I am blown away whenever I stroll through this part of town, especially by night. For my last night in Paris, I kept things as comfortable as possible. Think a silk pajama-esque shirt and pant with a fun play on layering. This is a uniform I could live in. Silk has been my fabric of choice for as long as I can remember. I could certainly use this for my 9am calletime tomorrow. I’m keeping things quick and short tonight as I’ve got a really long week ahead! I love that it’s possible to wear out what you wore to bed the previous night, don’t you agree?

Now, that’s a ritual that will forever live on. To me, music, fashion, and travel completely intertwine.
