I’VE GOT WINGS

familyaffairs5resized

These magnificent fringed sleeves literally feel a lot like wings. Especially when I’m stepping out into the extra windy streets off the Hudson River. They flutter every which way I turn. Black magic. I’m currently packing for my upcoming travels, and I’m always leaning towards these everyday staples. A simple cropped turtleneck, and my new favorite velvet maxi-skirt by Tjours Toi Family Affairs. (oh, and it’s on SALE for just today only…grab ’em while you can!) Sometimes your simplest pieces make the best of looks.

GREY AREA

Today, I’ll be spending the day working with Canon…shooting. I’m so excited for what’s in store! It’s got me rummaging through my inspiration files that go way back when. Natalia by Mario Testino. Kate Moss in 1994. Jane Birkin’s 60’s white on white ensemble. All images that’ll forever live in my head, and continue to inspire for decades to come. Sometimes life isn’t always just bright colors and sunshine. Just iconic and legendary moments.

90’S CHILD

oneil1resizeddoodle

When I first saw the new O’neill collection, I thought: the 90’s. The striped shaggy sweaters. Floral kimonos. And psychadelic dip-dye dresses. All full of color and life. I took these California beach babe must-haves and added a bit of NYC edge to them. Take a peek at all 3 looks. Homage to my 90’s childhood. Complete with doodles of everything I had mashed up in my head. FLOWER POWER.

oneil2resizeddoodleoneil3resizeddoodleYep, I still own one pair of BRIGHT RED denim jeans. After wearing blues and blacks nearly everyday, I like to go bold. Paired with this retro striped sweater…the colors just work.

oneil4resizeddoodleoneil6resizeddoodleoneil5resizeddoodleI’m a sucker for kimonos and a good cup of coffee. It’s my go-to on the weekends. With a little faux fur, I glammed up this cozy ensemble.

oneil7resizeddoodleoneil9resizeddoodleoneil8resizeddoodleIt’s super hard to unplug sometimes, but believe me, I’m still daydreaming about fresh blooms and my next adventures. It’s all about planning something unplanned. I gave this extra bohemian maxidress a little more edge layered with a white bodysuit, and my favorite harness boots.

SPORTY LUXE

bk1resized

Oh bare legs, how I miss you so!! Before the brutal 30 degrees, I was still rocking leather minis and sneakers like no other. I dressed down this perfect leather mini shipped straight from the UK (thank you Baukjen!) with my favorite pair of sneakers, and a trust bomber jacket. Sporty luxe. Pops of orange always look best with dark olive tones. Shot here after dashing from Manahttan to Brooklyn on a weekday, you can count on me to show up frazzled with disheveled hair, quickly applying that last minute swipe of plum lipstick. Luckily, those sweaty days on the subway are gone, but sadly, so are rooftop sunbathing sessions in your bikini. You’ll find me with my face ducked inside a turtleneck from now on thank you very much! Until California…
