This weekend I’m off to Amsterdam and Copenhagen, working with ECCO during their “Walk in Style” Europe event. I’m in love with their leather and cannot wait to visit their giant leather factory and see how it’s all done! We have two days in Amsterdam before taking off to Copenhagen for a week of fashion show fun. But for now, all I can think about is what to pack! I’m beyond excited. Getting to travel with my good friend Christina may be the best part! Together, we always have a jolly good time!

I’ve snapped a few shots of what I think I’ll be throwing in my suitcase. I’ve got some bold hues from Nicole Miller, lots of vintage and leather, and of course my “Natalie Suarez for Volcom” collection pieces which I’m stoked to bring over to Europe! Last minute, I’m bound to throw in great pair of skinnies, knitted sweaters, two good coats, and a scarf. Apparently it will be very chilly! Gahhh, so happy to explore a new place. My travel posts are always my favorite! xx

Half and Half

(Havealooook blazer, Blue Bird blouse, J Brand jeans, Vintage Versace bag, Dear Fieldbinder boots, Saint Claude necklace)

This is probably as simple as one can get for an afternoon out soaking in the California sunshine. Behind me is the bike path I take rides through…it’s miles long, a little hilly, and one of my favorite places to go to clear my head. My friends and I love to spend afternoons out there, biking for hours…sweating our butts off. This time, I went out just for a long walk. I love all the open land and endless blue sky. Already, I miss it. Though my life can sometimes be crazy, I live for this type of peace and quiet. I guess you can call the simple life something I crave for whenever I’m in NYC. As for my wardrobe, I like to sometimes just stick with the basics. With a sheer half-and-half dotted button-down, a crisp blazer, and a sweet pair of skinnies, I feel most at ease.

SURF CITY

Here I am standing in front of this giant billboard of me for Volcom Brand Jeans, right on Main Street, in none other than SURF CITY: Huntington Beach, California. So unreal! Only later did I even notice my name was printed on the wall as well. I love you VOLCOM sooo sooooo unbelievably much. They’re one brand that I’ll always call “family.”

Be sure to see all my Volcomunity posts and stay tuned as I give you updates on the upcoming “Natalie Suarez for Volcom” Fall and Holiday ’12 design collaboration! xx

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

(Juicy Couture coat, Hudson snakeskin jeans, Romwe sweater, Marie Turnor bag, Gap leather gloves, vintage Cole Haan boots)
To all my Chinese readers: GONG XI FA CAI! It’s Chinese New Year and I wish you all prosperity and good health. Being half Chinese, I grew up with the tradition of spending this wearing red, and attending the parade in downtown LA…blowing horns and acting silly. Those were the days!

As you can see, I’m back in the New York groove and enjoying every minute of it. It’s kind of weird to arrive back to the city with snow covering the sidewalks! Slowly, I’m learning to walk in this icy slush without falling on my butt! The chill even feels…well, nice. Not to mention, it’s been pretty rad getting to just bundle up again. I swear I woke up extremely excited to throw on a scarf! I went all east coast this past morning and threw on this dark colored look. I love a giant faux-fur coat, and some sparkly knitwear topped off with a snakeskin printed jean. I love the understated yet totally hot print on these jeans. I’m bound to wear these year-round.
