Modeling since the age of 15, Natalie Lim Suarez has been a notable figure in the fashion industry for years. Based in NYC, she is 1/2 Chinese, 1/4 Spanish, and 1/4 Mexican. With her passion for photography, creative direction, design, music, writing, modeling, and style, NATALIE OFF DUTY was born. Completely inspired by the "model off duty" on-the-go lifestyle. Sharing her stories, inspirations, and projects through her own photography and writing. Already noted for her winning fans in Harper's Bazaar UK, featured editorials in ELLE, and WWD for her "Good Taste." Along with campaigns and ambassadorships to top fashion and beauty brands from around the world. Some including COACH, DKNY, L'oreal Paris, Saks 5th Avenue, Sunglass Hut, Levis, and Nordstrom. Her eclectic, unique style has launched many successful design collaborations sold in top retailers around the world. Next to fashion, Natalie's other passion is music. Singing along with piano/guitar continue to pop up in her upcoming fashion campaigns.

I have a very special place in my heart for the beautiful and romantic San Francisco, and my absolute favorite boutique is AZALEA SF. You will definitely find me in their Hayes Street store whenever I’m in town. Their selection is a bit bohemian and earthy like myself, mixed with the classic down-to-earth minimalism that just oozes out from the easy, breezy Bay Area. A place where I never leave the hotel without a light coat. The city’s crisp fresh air has allowed us to perfect the lightly layered, warmer winters you find on the West Coast. Dylana and I worked with the AZALEA SF team to style their latest A/W ’15 collection, and hit the stunning, yet steep San Francisco streets. This season, I’m all about the structured coat, boyish beanies, slouchy trousers. But then again, I have to have that outstanding fringed jacket, nubby knits, and paisley mini dresses. This is our take on classic San Francisco style. We are always going to remain California girls at heart.

In NYC, you kind of have to master the art of layering. For me, I love having LEATHER as my base before piling on the extras. With a good leather pant, leather glove, and jacket over your sweater…there’s no way wind is getting up in there! By being back in the city, it’s extra hard to avoid being a hermit. You can’t just NOT do anything. There’s always a place to go, a meeting happening downtown, or a friend to catch up with. Thank goodness for indoor markets and the Brooklyn flea. During my off hours, I’m finally getting my apartment back in check. Winter is the best time to get your home feeling extra cozy now isn’t it? LAYER UP.
