MY LULU & GEORGIA HOLIDAY DECOR // MINIMAL YET MERRY

I got to site down with the Lulu & Georgia team here at home for an interview to discuss chic holiday decor, how I ended up in Dumbo, and the perks of having your sister and best friend as your neighbor, living in the same building in fact! When browsing the Lulu & Georgia site, I went for pieces I knew I’d keep forever when shopping for my holiday decor, with a very minimal approach. That’s my mindset whenever I’m decorating or picking up new pieces. To keep it minimal but merry, I just added a little green with a eucalyptus garland, fresh flowers, and some beautiful mood lighting.

Maybe invest in a timeless chandelier or table lamp. Centerpieces always add an artistic element to your holiday decor that feels timeless but fun.

My tip is to keep your decor elegant, with a less is more approach. The cake stand is a really special and cool piece because everyone loves dessert, and it’s beautiful. I kept my color palette mostly gray and beige, with little pop with the red ranunculus. The wine glasses in blush are elevated but still understated, which I love.

THE SHADE STORE // LOVE YOUR WINDOWS

I worked on a very special project with The Shade Store to update my home and I am in love with the final result! My installation is complete and my home feels so beautiful and totally refreshed. New drapery and shades was exactly what my windows needed. I hope you enjoyed being taken around during the entire design process: feeling the Holland & Sherry fabric swatches sent directly to my home, stopping by the beautiful showroom here in Dumbo, Brooklyn to work with my local design consultant, to the final installation. The team was so professional and really aimed for perfection when it came to what I was envisioning, which was to brighten up my loft and really make my windows stand out. 

I wanted something clean and elegant, yet still felt like a cozy home. The luxurious blackout drapery I chose is made with Holland & Sherry andes wool in the color Rye. It’s the softest to touch, and it’s the most beautiful neutral color. It’s not too dark, not too light, and still makes a total statement, especially in the ripple fold drapery. 
 
The linen sheer drapery came out gorgeous throughout my bedroom. I chose the color Natural. These are all colors that calm me and really look stunning when the sun comes through in the mornings and evenings. It creates such a romantic mood light. 
 
As a New Yorker, roller shades are a necessity. I went with blackout roller shades in the color Sand, and a sheer roller shade that allows me to see the city skyline at night but still gives my home just the right amount of privacy. Going with a soft color like Sand gives the shades a little added uniqueness compared to a typical roller shade. These are my favorite corners of my loft. Places where I read, or simply stare out the window to see the water. Thanks to my design consultant, the hardware and measurements came out beautiful and completely functional. Perfection is all I can say. It’s amazing how the little details can really make a house feel like a home. I love my windows more than ever.

SOFA TO LOVE: ETERNITY MODERN’S MARIO BELLINI CAMALEONDA

This statement sofa from Eternity Modern is a perfect addition to my home. I’ve been enjoying it all weekend long. I had mine made in aniline leather in the color Caramel. Talk about a dream sofa! This is a mid-century modern design that will never go out of style. I like that you can order more pieces to this sofa to extend it, or even separate them depending on the space. It’s like sitting on a cloud and trust me, I’ll be enjoying this baby many years to come.

MOOD LIGHTING // HUDSON VALLEY LIGHTING

To have a chandelier in my NYC loft was a dream of mine. I used to walk the streets at night in Brooklyn Heights and would just stop and stare at the twinkles coming from chandeliers in beautiful townhomes. And maybe now, when someone walks by and looks up to my windows, they will get a glimmer of inspiration as well. Timeless. Elegant. It’s everything I love about home decor. I am so excited to have partnered with Hudson Valley Lighting to feature a few key pieces that really transformed my space. This is the definition of mood lighting. 

Meet the Tulip Gold Leaf chandelier. It’s a very different twist on a chandelier as the crystals face upwards rather than hang down. It’s uniqueness and complexity is what made me gravitate towards it. Plus, tulips remind me of spring and re-awakenings. This is a piece I will keep forever and take even to my next home! 

The Hurley floor lamps are simple and chic. I really love clean, white shades and a luxurious base. My living room is already feeling much brighter.

In my bedroom, I got a matching set of the Locust Grove turquoise lamps! In my bedroom, I love little pops of color, and this was a perfect addition. It feels modern yet playful.
