Picnic Pretty

(Hudson Jeans, White + Warren blouse, Urban sandals, Free People sunglasses)

I think I just had one of the best weekends of my life here in New York. My friend Bonnie of Flashes of Style was visiting NYC for the first time and we had the best time! We started off in Williamsburg for a fun little picnic in McCarren Park, gorging on donuts to fulfill our cravings for anything sweet! There, I got to meet a lot of east coast bloggers who came for the meet up. They were all super sweet and have been following my blog for a while. It was nice to meet them face to face! Because it was such a warm day out, I went with one of my simplest looks: skinnies and a slouchy blouse, stacks of my favorite bracelets from home in Cali, and thick cat eye sunnies. I had Bonnie stay with me for the weekend and boy did I show her the real New York (crazy freight elevators, stinky subways, and evening stumbling upon the nastiest cockroach haha!) On a more pleasant note, I took her to Soho for an evening of great shopping and some of New York’s best pizza. With the trains being completely wack on the weekends, we were basically stuck in transit all day long making getting from Williamsburg to Manhattan and back to Brooklyn a complete nightmare! It was like herds of cattle coming off the L train. It was completely exhausting, but a ridiculous amount of fun. I don’t think Bonnie could have experienced a crazier time here in nyc! We ended up staying up late, watching Netflix over chinese takeout and booze, before dozing off and heading out for another day of fun. More photos of our unforgettably crazy weekend to come!

A Stroll Through Central Park

Taisa of AMAHZING has become one of my best nyc friends! This girl gets me in the New York grooooooooooooove!

current obsession: stacked on bracelets!

L’Wren Scott?! Check.

(Aplinestars by Denise Focil tank, Raven denim jeans, Juicy Couture scarf, Rachel Roy shoes, Vintage hat)

Okay, so these photos were taken on one of THE HOTTEST days in New York. It was hitting 100 degree and I was sweating bullets! It’s hard to get dressed, let alone take photos, when the weather is super icky! But this day, I honestly had no idea how bad the weather would be and so I went out with jeans. Not the brightest idea, but I’m such a sucker for these rust colored pants! I think Taisa and I still looked pretty good though despite the bipolar nyc weather! I threw this little Juicy Couture scarf over my shoulders to spruce up my simple tank. It also looked super pretty just flowing in the not so breezy air that day hehe. But want to know what I live in here in New York? My new kicks! They are brand spankin new Rachel Roy slip on’s and I’m obsessed. I’ve been wearing them nonstop. My feet have been so beat up from walking and taking the subway and so whenever I don’t have to wear heels, I slip into these babies. The print and oooh so comfy cushion sole are pure perfection!

Sending Love to the West Coast

There really is nothing better than getting a group of friends together for an all American weekend barbeque! Being on the east coast and looking at these pictures, taken before I left, definitely makes me miss all my west coast friends and the fun that comes with being in sunny Southern California. I got to spend this awesome day with Raych of That’s Chic, who has become one of my very good friends. We munched on goodies from Joan’s on 3rd while making burgers at my friend’s house in downtown LA. The tamales and grilled artichokes were insanely yummy! I had to post these fun, candid pictures because I love how bold the shots came out. A perfectly sunny Cali day. The colors really popped, especially the orange and blue of both Raych’s and Jenny’s jeans! Gahhh, I miss days like these, especially now that I’m so busy working in the Big Apple. Just kicking back with cold drinks under the sun is totally priceless and I can’t wait for upcoming weekends to do the same! Sending my love over to everyone at home in Cali 🙂

City Chic

(White + Warren jacket, Hudson Jeans tank, Urban scarf, Cheap Monday skirt, Bronx shoes, Velvetine bag)

These photos were shot in the heart of Soho, amongst the gorgeous cobblestone streets. I decided to spend the afternoon shopping, but had a bit of a tough time due to the heavy crowds that day! We did so much walking and even hit up stores in Time Square as well as on 5th avenue. We were pretty much all over the place! It’s easy though in nyc… you can cover so much ground in one day thanks to the lovely mta hehe! What was more crazy was receiving tweets that day from readers who happened to bump into me that day shopping. So unreal… to be spotted in such a big city! Thanks guys, but next time please come up and introduce yourself! 🙂
