In my Cabinets

Products would come in gift bags after shows, presents during Christmas, and now, I have a drawer filled with cosmetics that I just might get to. And sometimes the counters of my bathroom are piles of fragrances, mixed in with all my random jewels which I switch up everyday. Right now, I’ve noticed that the less I use, and the less I “care” for my skin, the better it is. A simple moisturizer, some SPF, dabs of concealer, and it’s really the only way to keep my skin feeling clean and fresh. Night it when I get a bit more into it…with an exfoliant and eyecream. It’s really strange. Many of my friends, even my boyfriend, thinks that everyday my face changes. Their not sure what it is? The structure or something they keep telling me! I guess with time, you finally grow into what you’re supposed to look like. Believe me, going back through my photos as a child and every single year I looked like a different person.
Just a few products that made it to my shelf: MAKE Color am/pm cream, Clarin’s Double Serum, Estee Lauder “Idealist” illuminator, Shiseido “White Lucent” eye cream, Kiehl’s body cream)
Anyways, besides these little transformations that come with growing up, I’ve always been a lip girl. I used to not want to highlight my full lips, but now, I’m always seen with different colors. You guys probably remember the year I wouldn’t go a day without red lipstick..well, I still carry a tube in my bag at all times. But even with a plum, and now with Spring….BOLD COLORS! Bright pinks, a coral and subtle orange. I’m having way too much fun. Of course when I’m on the job or headed to castings, I keep everything super minimal. No lipstick, maybe a light stain..or I’ll go with the cat-wing on my eye, just because I can. Why not?! Even models need makeup too ya know.

(Estee Lauder “Scarlet Siren” red lipstick, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics in “Anime” pink lip tar, L’oreal black liner, Rosebud lip salve)

Introducing FP Me

Wearing Free People, photographed by Dylana Suarez
And here we are, a secret little project I’ve been working on with Free People for FP Me! Talk about some killer looks right? It’s a new feature that allows you to interact on the Free People site, by creating a public profile, uploading your own images wearing your “hearted” product, tagging them, and hearting the items/looks/collections you love. From there you can shop your collections and you “heart” and follow other people! You can even upload your images through Instagram. Talk about rad right? It’s a community that allows you to interact with each other for the first time on the FP site.
Even before I shot their catalog, their clothes have somehow been embedded in my dna. I love their vibe. The bohemian embroidered blouses, tomboy overalls, gorgeous printed maxi’s, and woven hats. The collections are dreamy, and above all, so me…that free-spirited wanderer living life in NYC or in the California desert. Wherever I am in the world, I’ve got their pieces with me.
And now, with the FP Me launch, you can shop my looks/collections (natalieoffduty), and create your own FP Me profile to get started!

The Wallflower

Oldschool wallpaper, shelves and shelves of books, and a closet just as filled with warm colors. The vintage lover. Little trinkets, little items of jewelry lying everywhere. Everything from her photographs to her artwork, to her closet features pieces already worn and broken in. For me, I love a real and authentically crazy closet, mixed with prints, colors, and memories of the past. Timeless pieces that allow me to move. Whenever I’m on the job, whether it be at a shoot, or at the shoe factory, you may know I can’t really live without mixed prints, long skirts, killer trousers, and of course, a fantastic pair of boots to keep me going. I’m currently in love with this eclectic mix of clashing patterns and colors. Anything I can sit down in with a cup of coffee and notebook, and feel at ease. That wallflower isn’t one anymore, now is she?

A Roaring Wind

This weekend was filled with roaring winds, yet there was sun…lots of sun. I was walking Soho and about 10 minutes in, it got so crazy that my hair was whipping my face, I could barely see, and the only thing we could do was hop in a cab and seek shelter. There’s Jordan and I looking like maniacs with our crazy hair…his more than mine! I guess he’s going for a more rock n’ roll vibe this year?! And of course I’m sporting summery dresses in one of the coldest winters we’ve had! This embroidered beauty is something I couldn’t keep in the back of my closet any longer. With a little lacy blouse underneath, I thought “it is now winterwear, I can go out!” Thankfully two layers of jackets saved the day. I love you Muubaa and APC! Oh, and there’s two new loves in my life. These like YOKO sunglasses and a teeny tiny tube of Obsessive Compulsive LIP TAR in “Anime” that I now secretly stash away in the bottom of my handbag, you know, just in case I need some color?! It’s a bubblegum pink and paired with a navy blue look, brightened up a somewhat of a dreary winter day. I’m currently on the prowl for more and more bright lip colors. Yesterday I went with a subtle orange that made me want to want to travel somewhere exotic like Bali or India. I’m already planning my next travel destination, so stay tuned! For now, I’m going to go all out in the lipstick department.
