PureDKNY: A Drop of Rose

pureDKNY, shot by Carmen Chan

I’m secretly in love with perfume. I used to always steal my mom’s bottles back home, try mixing them, and making them my own. Now, I keep only a few of my signature scents with me wherever I travel. At the moment, all I’ve been spritzing on each morning is pureDKNY’s Drop of Rose perfume. It’s currently sitting in my new apartment, right next to my green DKNY “Be Delicious” scent…both almost down to their last spritz’s! I use them so much, it’s nuts! But this past month, the clean and simple scent of A Drop of Rose has been lurring me into it’s world. I’ve always been a roses girl…and it’s almost a must to have some pretty fresh flowers in the house. It’s basically my apartment in a bottle…I am addicted to the scent of fresh flowers. I just spray a teeny tiny bit on my wrist and dab a little behind my ears (sometimes I spray my sheets) and I’m good to go. I love all things subtle and beautiful when I’m in my own little world.

Take me Out

An Evening Out with Alejandro Ingelmo

For an evening out, I’m all about some cool, dark printed layers. A maxi-dress, a structured jacket or blazer, with some killer accessories. Right now, I’m on a bit of a punk platform kick. Those Shoreditch creepers were always on the top of my wishlist. I’m obsessed with Alejandro Ingelmo’s pair here, featured as part of Polyvore’s Designer Collective. The handbags, structured shoes, and neon kicks have a totally fresh spin on all of my favorite classics. I want to take this look out for a night of music, maybe even a little whiskey, down on the Lower East Side, a place that inspires me to wear whatever I want. Talk about some underground love! And eeeep, it’s fashion week! Already my calendar is jam packed. Looks like every night is going out night!

Girls Running with the Wind

(Vintage coat, Motel Rocks dress, Thrifted backpack, Belle by Sigerson Morisson “Charis” boots, Black Water Moon rings)
Extreme windy days for us NYC girls, call for tiny little dresses, not-thick-enough tights, and hair…long enough to create a rat’s nest in the wind. Of course I thought it was totally ok to go out in a frock that just barely covered my bum. As did Kelsea…the girl refuses to wear jeans! But still, this colorful mess of a look is still one of my favorite little ensembles. Stripes and plaid. Who knew it’d be like bread and butter! Black, white, burgundy, mustard, navy blue…the old school colors of the rainbow have me smitten. Paired with a tiny little pointed toe bootie, I don’t think the east village had seen anything so colorful on a winter’s day. Even with the cold, everyday is still so go, go, go. With the beautiful light snow just outside my window, I’m ready for one Sunday for hibernation and breakfast in bed.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

It’s nearly Saturday, and all I want to do is bundle on the couch in a velvet blazer, and wool trousers. I’m inspired to stock up on some faux fur, and make a roadtrip out West. Anything to escape the chill. Yet we’re still snuggling together in high collars, and clean button-downs, all before we can finally put the coats in the back of our wardrobes to whip out the babydoll dresses and bare legs. Spring, I’m excited for you to finally roll around and show your colors. For now, I’m seeing black and white.
