Philadelphia is one place where I can run around the streets and honestly, not even see a soul. It’s can get so incredibly quiet in my sister’s area called Fishtown that it can be so calming compared to NYC, where I literally step outside my doorstep and there’s no avoiding running into people. The homes are narrow yet long, and each have that gritty, “been here for decades” type of feel. Old drapes shade the windows, and the colorful paint of the closely rowed homes have been chipped for years. There’s a bit of charm in the place that I quite like. And it’s been cold. Really cold! Cold enough for a vest, a wool coat, velvet, and sweater all layered into one! I found this vest lying on my sister’s clothes rack and I fell in love with it. I needed that one extra layer before going out, and this quilted denim beauty was perfect. Shot on a sleepy weekend, I may have been the loudest thing on the streets that day, clickety-clacking in my western boots! Sometimes a sleeping city needs a little awakening.

The Pennyblack magalog finally arrived from Italy!!! This week I’ve been getting so many copies from my work in print and it feels amazing. All that work really does pay off. Pennyblack, being MaxMara’s younger label, was absolutely killer to work with. The Italian accents, late night dinners on the beach, oh and of course, getting to shoot right on the water. Talk about brilliant! Just the adventure during our shooting was too incredibly dreamy. The simple pieces, in bold prints, were made to mix, match, and just throw together. Easy, effortless, and oh, so European chic. So here it is, the final final images, and well as a few of my favorite outtakes, all shot by my dear friend, Kelsea Kosko. Currently dreaming of my next island adventure! Take me back to the bohemian land of Montauk pleeease!

Just before fashion week the boy came home with a little surprise! We’ve been thinking fringe for the longest time, and voillaaaa, the JETT with some western stitching and fringeeee. The moment I got it, I couldn’t stop holding the boot and shaking it with my hand. Talk about one rock n’ roll shoe, bright enough to battle the snow’s rays. We were thinking ELVIS, and so yep, it’s now the new Modern Vice “JETT” Preseley boot, coming soon after many tweaks! Dylana’s got a black pair I’m swooning over, but I went the other route, and had a royal blue pair handmade. Paired alongside a teeny tiny Nicole Miller frock, fresh off the runway, and extra round sunglasses. I’m a sucker for wearing a ton of colors at once. Remember that round sunglass kick I went on around fashion week? Yep, my drawer now has about 5 of them, and I can’t get enough. Anyways, all I have on my mind are SHOES, summer, and yikes, still got loads of travel trip planning ahead. I’m ready to take these booties into Spring with long bohemian maxis, and tailored pants. Elvis would approve.

I’m excited for a lot of things come Spring. Already, it looks like I’ll be traveling for work in the next two months, and to cities I’ve never been to! I’m so so ready to explore! New York, you’re still kinda chilly, and I’m dying for some sun. I’m already out scouring some new Spring pieces to take with me on my journeys. From festival to festival, from east to west, I want to visit every corner of this world. And of course, with a suitcase to paint the town in. We’re talking lots of COLOR. Tie-dye, florals, shaggy coats, paislees, all topped off with some killer cowboy hats, boots, and badass silver/gold jewels. I’m sure by the end of my travels, my wrists will be stacked with bracelets and wristbands picked up on the road. I’m ready to stomp over all this new ground! Stay tuned for my upcoming journeys.
