H&M Grand Opening with the Suarez Sisters // The Mall at Bay Plaza BRONX

This Thursday, August 14th, marks a super important day for H&M and NYC. My sister Dylana  Suarez and I will be hosting the opening of H&M’s thirty-sixth store in New York State at The Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx. The store opens at noon and will allow customers in the Bronx access to the latest trends at the best prices.
This store opening is super exciting because The Mall at Bay Plaza will be the first enclosed fashion mall in New York City in almost forty years and will serve customers in the Bronx, Westchester and upper Manhattan. H&M is a huge supporter of sustainable fashion and recycling. To kick off the store opening, H&M customers at The Mall at Bay Plaza can donate old and unwanted pieces of clothing from any brand while in the store. Customers will receive a voucher for 15% off their entire purchase for each bag of donated clothing. Those who bring garments to be recycled before the store opens at noon will also have the chance to win H&M gift cards valued between $50 and $100 in addition to receiving the 15% off voucher. Not only that, H&M at The Mall at Bay Plaza will also offer the first 100 shoppers in line an H&M t-shirt and Access to Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $300, in addition to other fantastic opening offers for the whole family!
The first five customers to tweet at me (@natalieoffduty) and @hm while waiting in line will win early access with style consultation and a free head to toe outfit courtesy of H&M!

H&M at The Mall at Bay Plaza is located at 200 Baychester Avenue, Bronx, NY 10175.

See you guys at noon on Thursday, August 14th in the Bronx!! We can’t wait!

TEXTURE PLAY // THROWING IT BACK

I am SERIOUSLY throwing it back. Back to when my cheeks and nose were so pink from the cold, I couldn’t feel my own face. It’s funny seeing the pale version of myself as I look at my suitcase full of swimsuits and rashguards, my tan still going strong. All of these winter-ready pieces are stashed away somewhere far, FAR back into my closet. But these were the days. Mornings trying to figure out how to dress cute/warm/cozy in 20 minutes all while trying to be comfortable enough to take on the crowded streets and subway cars. Winters were shiveringly bitter, and it’s still hard taking in all of these looks. All of which, I got too busy to even look over. Today is all about texture play. Now being a New Yorker, I’ve totally mastered the art of layering. Fur under my leather. Bright pinks with my colorful plaids. Taking that British newsboy cap, along with stockings and a midi skirt out to the East Village. Freezing temps are fun when you’ve got the goods to play with. I guess I’m prepping for what’s to come…fall you’re creeping up faster than I thought.

THE ESSENTIALS // TRUE RELIGION

When it comes down to it, I always have my essentials. It could be a white tee. A leather vest. A newsboy cap. But a good blue jean is way up on my list. This time? I’m going with the perfect INDIGO jean. It has that sexy, sultry vibe. True Religion has perfected this wash of indigo…the deep blue hypnotizing. I love this new fit: the mid-rise VICTORIA, part of their Core Fits. It’s a more modern take on the classic cigarette jean. It’s so effortless and easy, cuffed with a pop from my yellow snake boots. Their Core Fits are inspired by denim disrupt by innovation. They still have their iconic stitching, but they’ve gone NEW and REFINED with a minimalist twist…making them my everyday jean. Best dressed with all of my essentials.

A GOLDEN BROWN

I’m slowly watching my tan sadly fade. Summer isn’t over just yet, is it? With work, I’ve been stuck in the city shooting, rushing right once I’m done Friday evenings to hop in the car with a small suitcase, a bag full of potato chips, and a new playlist. Frazzled. Shelter Island, here we come! But just wait, I’ve got loads more travels up my sleeve. It’s all worth the craziness of GETTING THERE. This time, I packed the ultimate black bikini. Black and white on the beach is my favorite. Against the colorful swimsuits and reflector sunglasses you do stick out like a sore thumb. Simple is sometimes better. The netted white tank and white denim shorts just happen to be bare necessitites….what I throw on before and after a good paddleboarding session. I could live the island life forever and ever.

For night, I go for eclectic colors and prints. This gorgeous twin set byNicole Miller is striking and easy. A sailcoth stripe! It feels lived in. I can’t wait for our NM Warrior campaign shoot to come out (yep, starring the Suarez Sisters!) Stay tuned.
