I spend a ton of time at my home workspace when I’m actually in town. I tend to travel every other week, so when I am back home, getting work done, I like my space to be minimal, eclectic, and extra cozy. My desktop was in need of it’s own separate space…and for me, with my camera equipment and mood boards, I needed a big desk. A big desk for me to sketch, to write, to really zone in on my work and my editing. I immediately went to Joybird because of their sleek, vintage-inspired design. Modern Mid-Century is an ongoing theme in my home. My Dumbo, Brooklyn home is super lofty, so I like to keep it’s raw, industrial feel. Wood with metal accents, and little pops of bold color. Meet my new Joybird “Holland” desk.

FOR THE TALL LADIES! Yes, I’m 5’10”!

I was in London when I first met with Long Tall Sally, an amazing brand, based in the UK, that caters to us super tall women, all over the world. I’m 5’10 and it’s seriously so hard finding pants long enough for me…it’s tough enough finding miniskirts that aren’t too short, or blazers that actually hit my wrists. That extra inch or two in length makes a huge difference for us amazon women. So when they asked me to shoot for the new Long Tall Sally x Karl Lagerfeld Paris capsule collection, I jumped at the opportunity. I love getting to represent the tall ladies out there. The Karl Lagerfeld Paris capsule is super classic. It’s French. It’s minimal. It’s rock n’ roll. Tweed blazers, super sleek leather pants, and extra nubby knit cardigans. And all in perfect fall shades: black, white, with pops of purple and pale pink. I layered mine up…just as Karl would. I gave it all a little pop with a god hoop earring. There’s such an elegance to this structured style, and classic silhouette. It’s timeless. Oh, and the shoes are also part of the collection. These block-heeled pumps are perfection now, aren’t they? Who said tall girls didn’t wear heels?

TWO NEW COLLECTIONS TO STACK ON | DAVID YURMAN

I lean to David Yurman jewelry the more I refine my wardrobe. I’m all about investing in timeless, and beautiful jewelry that will never go out of style. I see myself wearing David Yurman for years and years to come, passing down from generation to generation. Here are two new collections from David Yurman that I absolutely love: the Solari collection with new silver additions, and the Barrels collection. The Solari Silver collection takes the iconic cable bracelet and gives it a pop of color. I always layer mine on for a dramatic look, complete with a beautiful little stud earring. When I wear bold, iconic jewelry, I keep the rest simple like barely-there makeup, a silk pantsuit, and kitten heels. There’s something so appealing about undone beauty.

BONJOUR FROM THE SOFITEL NEW YORK

During NYFW, I find it so important to have that “home away from home.” To keep the madness of NYFW outside of my home of Dumbo, Brooklyn, I like to treat myself to a luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan. My hotel of choice? The Sofitel. Always a classic. The Sofitel, right by Bryant Park, is smack dab in the middle of just about everything. I called it my “home-not-so-far-away-from-home” this season. It’s been my place to do runway pulls, last-minute outfit changes, and of course, a great place to kick up my feet in between shows with friends. Having a luxury hotel to pop into whenever you need a cat nap is so necessary. By the way, did you know the Sofitel has the most amazing bed in the entire world? I still dream about it. I just found out you can actually order the Sofitel bed along with it’s bedding for your own home at the So Boutique. How cool is that? The “SOBed” is famous for not making you want to get out of bed…ever.
