LEATHER BASE

turtleneck-winter-4resized

In NYC, you kind of have to master the art of layering. For me, I love having LEATHER as my base before piling on the extras. With a good leather pant, leather glove, and jacket over your sweater…there’s no way wind is getting up in there! By being back in the city, it’s extra hard to avoid being a hermit. You can’t just NOT do anything. There’s always a place to go, a meeting happening downtown, or a friend to catch up with. Thank goodness for indoor markets and the Brooklyn flea. During my off hours, I’m finally getting my apartment back in check. Winter is the best time to get your home feeling extra cozy now isn’t it? LAYER UP.

SHEER DARKNESS

for-love-lemons-5resized

It’s Friday, so why not kick off the weekend with a perfect party dress? For Love and Lemons kills it every single time. I fell madly in love with this sultry lace beauty the moment I spotted it at the Revolve Grove Pop-Up. The sexy sleeves. The fit. The delicate embroidery. Too good. It’s a piece I’ll keep forever, and look back, and be like: I remember that night I first wore that dress! I slipped into this baby for our New Years Eve celebrations out in Venice Beach, California. Paired with only a red lip, and my favorite Saint Laurent pumps. We hopped from one party to the next…all along Pacific Avenue. The chill from the ocean waves rolling in, but the the rock n’ roll band kept us dancing by the fireplace, keeping us warm all throughout the night before popping that much-needed bubbly. I really do miss the WestSide, but it feels good to finally be back in NYC after what has been a super long, sunny and warm holiday. I can’t wait to share with you what I have on my upcoming schedule. I’m back to the craziness.

DO THE DENIM CHOP

getty-la-8resized

I have officially become one of those girls who attacks her clothing with a pair of scissors. And it always starts with the jeans. The more ankle, the more cropped, and the more they look “effortlessly chic” the better. I guess i got the cutting bug from my older sister Dylana. She’d always leave her OOPSY POOPSY “I just totally messed up on these pair of jeans because I cut a hole on the crotch” in MY closet. I threw on these jeans that I’ve been wearing for ages…and believe me, they are PERFECT. But a little chop made them even more me. It’s a DO depending on your height and fit of your jeans. Loose and straight legged? Yes. Skinny and midrise? Yes. Everyone loves a good frayed hem. A good hem, and great backless, NO BRA day. So liberating eh?! I took this super casual and easy look out to the Getty, one of my absolute favorite spots in LA. I go for the spectacular views and killer photo exhibits. And nothing’s better than rolling in the grass in your favorite jeans.

SIN CITY

VIVA LAS VEGAS. For me, it’s a love-hate kind of thing. I guess I really love OLD Vegas. Downtown Las Vegas. Where the streets are currently craving it’s revival by luring you in any which way they can. Home to some of our favorite legends. Elvis and Michael Jackson. Where it all happened. Where they danced on stage… lived for the glitz and glamour…all while changing the world. They don’t call it sin city for nothing. The non-stop entertainment. The black-jack tables, the jingle of the slot machines, the blissful sound of coins dropping in your cup. The flashy cars, glittering lights, and bottomless drinks. I grew up with Vegas. Considering it was my parent’s favorite roadtrip destination when I was a child.  Where everything is over the top and you’ll run into the kookiest of characters. For the holidays, we kept it relatively low-key as I went down memory lane along with those necessary pit-stops at Saint Laurent and Chanel down the Strip. I mean, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
