UPTOWN KITTY

Meet your highness, Princess Gucci. Yes, that is her real name! This gloomy weekend was one to stay inside on the Upper West Side. I find uptown to be a little weekly escape for me. My boyfriend and I walk through Central Park, make visits to the local farmer’s market, and really just stay in and watch movies. I had my camera on me, and so my boyfriend snagged these shots one sleepy Saturday afternoon. We were just playing around at his mother’s house, keeping the kitty’s company. It’s an absolutely gorgeous house, wouldn’t you agree? I love the vintage gold accents, statues, and and pops of animal prints. They’re French, and they love their cats. Gucci here happens to be one of my favorite little fluff balls and the perfect sidekick for my French story for Parisian brand, Sezane. I think she really enjoyed all the attention. I mean, look at that beauty shot! Talk about one glamorous and very high maintenance kitty. . . always sitting on her throne. When family is away for the weekend, she actually enjoys our short visits filled with treats and a little love.

80’S INSPIRED PROENZA SCHOULER

I just got back to the city after shooting a new campaign with The Outnet in Montauk where I got to frolic on the beach in all of my favorite designer pieces. It was there on set that I fell in love with this Proenza Schouler dress hanging beautifully on the rack. It’s popping 80’s inspired print and sleek silhouette had me make a bee-line for it right away. Absolute drool-worthy perfection. I took it back to the city to wear for a big night out paired with my most delicate Malone Soulier heels. Here I am snapped just outside the Hotel Americano where I was speaking on the latest Shop Who What Wear panel, before meeting up with The Outnet team at Cecconi’s Dumbo to kick off the summer solstice. When I’ve got a long night of celebrations, a statement dress is what I go for. Speaking of which, I’m currently designing a clothing line launching this Fall. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! I can’t wait to tell you where it will be sold and the epic team involved, but keep on following for loads of sneak peeks into the design process.  Imagine loads of statement dresses, tops, satin sets, track suits, and more. I can’t wait to share this experience with you. This is certainly going to be one summer to remember…an extra fun one all while the team and I work out booty’s off. For now, I’m taking the Saturday to kick off the heels and straight up chill, hit up the farmer’s market, and catch up with friends. What are you all up to this weekend?

MY VERSION OF THE CINDERELLA DRESS

It isn’t often that I get to wear a huge ballgown, but I’m taking advantage of the moments that I can. Like here, for the MOMA “Afterparty in the Garden” with Carolina Herrera. My version of the Cinderella dress has voluminous sleeves, a fitted waist, and a giant skirt. But it’s with the print and color that I can have the most fun. Carolina Herrera makes going to a summer party extra standout with blue and yellow polka-dots and conffeti-esque oversize earrings. I completed the look with a pink/orange pair of Manolos and a new addition to my designer handbag collection . . . this rare and vintage Chanel barrel bag. A super tiny bag, that’s still large enough for my oversize iPhone 8. I like the play of proportion with a voluminous dress and a miniature accessory. It’s cartoonish, but in the best way.

ON SET FOR NICOLE MILLER RESORT 2019

This isn’t your typical campaign shoot, and it was certainly one to remember. Nicole Miller always takes the unconventional route when it comes to her campaign shoots and actually incorporated a full press day on the set, with publications like WWD and VOGUE coming in to capture their own content and stories as well!  We shot at Metal Shutter Houses, an art space in the heart of Chelsea. This space is a hub for creativity, with super high ceilings, freshly painted white walls and flooring, along with a stunning set of skylights, creating the most magnificent set of shadows to pose alongside. This collection pulled together eclectic and confusing styles that one wouldn’t expect, and made them work beautifully. Completely inspired by the eclectic and interesting mixes you’ll find on the cool girls of Manhattan. I love the chance to get into character during shoots like this. At the same time, I would completely wear these pieces on my own! That made it all the more fun. You can see there’s a little sporty element to each look. Think varsity socks paired with classic striped pajama-esque suits and flowing asymmetrical skirts. And you know me, I love a pop of color like jade and citrus along with a statement metallic piece to throw into any look. It’s the little elements of urban street style that made the collection really pop. Converse paired with brushstroke patterned cocktail dresses and flowing blouses with varsity striped leather pants made opposites attract. This collection felt refreshing and unique, giving me a few styling notes to take on myself (like taking a button up blouse and wearing it backwards). Bravo Nicole Miller, and thank you for having me as your muse this season.
