ICELAND WITH NARCISO RODRIGUEZ PURE MUSC FOR HER

The moment I checked into The Retreat Blue Lagoon hotel in Iceland, I did an immediate exhale. I had just landed after two back-to-back work trips in Europe and I was so ready for a real calming getaway. At The Retreat, I was welcomed by giant windows overlooking pools of blue and land covered in deep green moss… as far as the eye could see. I was in town with the Narciso Rodriguez team to shoot for the launch of the new fragrance, Pure Musc for Her. Iceland is certainly as naturally beautiful and pure of a location for our project and I was so excited.

The Retreat, the home base and main shoot location for our project, has incredible clean lines and strong but simple architecture. Pure Musc for Her has a very similar feeling. Elegant. Powerful. Sensual. This is Narciso Rodrigiuez’s new edition of his musc collection. Pure Musc focuses heavily on musc in it’s most raw and natural form. It’s really just an addictive, sophisticated scent. To celebrate the launch, press from all over the world met in Iceland to really immerse in the art of the fragrance and the inspiration behind it. We indulged in all things pure and natural from the earth. Between shooting and long swims in the Blue Lagoon, I found myself at the spa, covering my entire body in a scrub, silica cleanse, and algae mask ritual. I even did an in-water massage in the Blue Lagoon which is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our days were made for rejuvenation of our skin and body, while nights consisted of indulging in freshly made dinners of local fish and vegetables. We even caught the Northern Lights on our first day…talk about lucky! But every morning I couldn’t wait to wake up and do it all over again….exploring new locations, creating iconic imagery with the Narciso Rodriguez team, and adventuring.

There was one morning where the team had a surprise, and drove us 4 hours out to an Icelandic glacier. It was a super bumpy ride with one stop at the amazing Faxi Waterfall. We held on tight as our giant wheels sped through thick pillows of snow. I think the best thing about traveling in Iceland is hopping in a car, going, and looking out the window. The views of the rocky land, cliffs, and ocean is absolutely breathtaking. By the time we reached our destination, we hopped on snow mobiles to our secret shoot location, which happened to be beside an adorable little igloo and a spectacular Pure Musc for Her ice sculpture. These are just moments where I go, wow. So much hard work and creativity has gone into this project launch. It’s unbelievable. I could of stayed out there all day in our heated little igoo, sipping on hot chocolate in my oversize snow jumpsuit. Purely perfect.

As if things couldn’t get any better, the team and I met on the black sand beach, shooting with stunning white Icelandic ponies. They were so sweet and so gorgeous. We met here to have one last lunch get-together before everyone took their departures at the airport. I didn’t want to leave. I was actually so inspired by this work trip that I want to plan another time to return, rent a Jeep, and simply keep discovering. My camera in hand.

THE UGG SPRING COLLECTION

This post is sponsored by UGG

I am completely embodying my bohemian side this upcoming festival season. Think oversized kimono dresses and giant aviator sunglasses paired with my Le Fluff sandals from the new UGG Spring collection. And guess what, they come in every soft color of the desert like Red Rock and Pink Dawn. These colors have me dreaming of an evening walk to the festival. The sun starts to set just as the night is only beginning. Having a little fluff on my feet is the luxury I always find in UGG, and now in a perfect summer sandal. I can’t wait for that drive from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. It’s my favorite. This is my 10th festival season and now that I’m a seasoned veteran, I know exactly how to pack. I always gravitate toward bright colors, floral prints, and Japanese-inspired kimonos to throw on over my bikini. As for my footwear, I’m all about comfort with a little “fluff”. My new favorite word.

VALMONT PURITY | SPORT HERMITAGE HOTEL & SPA IN ANDORRA

Being in Hermitage, Andorra, situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains, was the perfect place to celebrate the launch of Valmont‘s new Purity collection. Valmont Purity is all about the art of cleansing. The ritual of cleansing just got deep and I found it the key to discovering your most amazing skin. Think make removal, cleansing, toning, smoothing, purifying, and more. There really is something for everyone in this collection. My two favorites happen to be Wonder Falls, a nourishing cleansing cream, and Bubble Falls, a balancing face foam. I like to alternate between the two depending on how my skin is feeling.

This luxurious ski trip to the Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa in Andorra was the most perfect spot to focus on wellness. I could sit out on my balcony and just simply breath in and out. To slow down really is a breath of fresh air. When I wasn’t on the slopes or speeding on my snow mobile with the team, I found myself sneaking away to the spa: a multi-level retreat of pools, hot tubs, and brilliant saunas and steam rooms. Valmont has luxury spas all around the world, the Sport Hotel, being one of them. I went for two facials during my stay. Each unique in their own yet both extremely intricate. Valmont is known for their symphony-like, delicate facials. Each move of the towel across my face could immediately put me to sleep. It was purifying, exfoliating, and totally nourishing with a focus on anti-aging and hydration. Every time I left the spa, I liked to step out and feel the cold rush of the mountain air hit my face. It’s the best and most invigorating feeling in the world.

This was a week to really learn more about my skin. My morning and nightly cleansing ritual is now my favorite part of the day. I find it a luxury to rejuvenate, slow down, and simply indulge in art of purifying. I can’t wait to visit all of the other Valmont spas around the world.

FOREVER FENDI TIMEPIECES IN ROME, ITALY

Buon giorno! Visiting the Fendi Roma headquarters for the first time is something I will always remember. The moment I hopped out of the car, the view took my breath away. I stared up at gorgeous stone stairs leading up to the front doors. Giant windows at the ground level gave view to blue skies and the city, while Roman statues casted dramatic shadows down the halls. The place is just absolutely gorgeous. Clean, minimal, and totally elegant. So Italian. So grand. It was picture perfect. I was in town for the very exciting launch of Forever Fendi, new watch in their timepieces collection that is launching very soon. Press, media, and celebrities (yep, I saw Nicki Minaj making her way in) attended this very special and exclusive presentation to give you the first look! I am here wearing the sterling silver Forever Fendi piece with a dark watch face. I find it to be the most classic combination. Its delicate band seems to resemble a bracelet, yet it stills feels tough enough to wear on your wrist to an important business meeting. It’s both feminine and masculine and that’s what I love about it. If you look closely you’ll see the signature F’s for Fendi made into the band. The Forever Fendi piece feels like a vintage, but with an updated, luxurious look. It’s my new everyday piece that I can layer with my other favorite jewels.

In the images below, you’ll find me having way too much fun sashaying up and down the Fendi Roma corridors. I couldn’t help but soak it all in. Following the presentation, the team and I did as the Romans do. We visited the romantic Trevi Fountain in the hustle and bustle of the city center, and even made our way up to the private suites above the Fendi storefront. There we looked at sketches from Karl Lagerfeld found through the decades. and even got a private tour of a massive suite, a place to host friends of house, painted in my favorite shade of blue. I think just staring at the architecture and design elements in Rome is the best part. The way the Romans use marble and stone is absolutely breathtaking. Italian design and craftsmanship goes beyond anything I’ve ever seen. There are so many amazing shapes and color palettes and new forms of art to discover. Italy, you continue to bring me back and inspire me time and time again. This trip was special. Not only were we the first to discover Fendi’s newest and latest in timepieces, we got to take a bite out of Fendi history. And that is something I’ll always remember.
