Weekend Kicks

(J Brand Ready-To-Wear leather blazer and waxed jeans, Stylestalker tee, True Religion leather jacket, Marie Turnor bag, H&M hat, Angel Court necklace, Feiyue sneakers)

Morning all! I’m still at my sister’s place in Philadelphia, recovering from fashion week…and what ended up being one crazy weekend. Dylana, Bonnie, and I barely got any sleep due to late nights out dancing, 2 am diner dinners in celebration of our friend’s birthday, and Zoolander/Brigette Jones Diary movie nights. We all spent Sunday feeling like Zombies, but after a good 9 hours of sleep, I’m now feeling refreshed and pumped to get back to NYC!

After fashion week, which was a total whirlwind (as well as painful as I was wearing heels), I spent most of my weekend bouncing around Philadelphia in these awesome new kicks. They were great as we did a lot of walking to location scout for an upcoming shoot my sister and I are working on next week. Looking for a backdrop super grunge, there was no place better than Philly. Anyways, these sneaks saved my feet’s lives and are kind of now my “off duty” staple. I love their 70’s vibe…similar to a pair my Dad used to wear with what used to be cool neon shorts and a giant beard (lord help me). They’re back and cooler than ever. I’m obsessed. Where can I get more hm? Also, I’ve been sporting my J Brands all weekend, as they are all that I had packed, along with pieces from their new Ready-To-Wear collection. Waxed denim is my new favorite. They honestly make anyone’s legs look super lean. The J Brand RTW collection is simplicity to the max, and so I love pairing their pieces with loose layers like a cut-up tee and oversize leather jacket. Kicking back just rocks.

Also, meet me this Thursday, February 23rd at the J Brand NYC event! See event details HERE! Also, join me Wednesday evening (3pm EST) on Twitter for the J Brand x Stylecaster #stylechat!

Opening the Polyvore Live Runway Show!

My favorite part of NYFW was opening and closing the Polyvore Live runway show! Getting to walk alongside all the girls/bloggers that have inspired me from the very beginning was amazing. My sister Dylana was also in town to walk the show with me! We had our fitting in Soho and it was the first time we all viewed the collections. We had Ready-To-Wear and Evening Wear. Rarely do I ever get this dressed up, so it was fun being a part of the Evening Wear part of the show, all glammed up with two beautiful gowns as my looks. For the show, we did something very unexpected and pulled all of my hair back. It added a much more clean and classy look for the collection. Plus, it felt very refreshing for me not having my hair in my face! The makeup was a sexy, smokey-brown eye, which I think really made the colors of our eyes light up like mad! Super pretty 🙂

I opened the show in this stunning, floor length red dress by Vengsarkar Budhu, an FIT graduate. With it’s corset-like waist, it really gave me some shape! It was sexy, but sweet and just plain hot! I closed the show in a white wedding gown by the amazing Sergio Guadarrama, also a recent FIT graduate. Never have I seen a wedding dress with a cape! It was such an original design and looked absolutely magical on the runway. I loved working with these two designers! They may be the sweetest guys on the planet! I just loved how their faces lit up as the show began. It was a dreamy, unforgettable night, getting to play dress up with all my favorite girls…all while feeling like a total princess.

Front Row at Vivienne Tam

Front row at Vivienne Tam with Miss Keiko!

Yep, I’ve been working with Modellounge/UGG this season to cover shows and I really do carry this tote everywhere!

Shake your BON BON!

(Stylestalker leather “Rebel” dress, Bar III blazer, True Religion leather jacket, Dear Fieldbinder motorcycle boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Modellounge tote, Poshlocket cone cuff)

I cannot believe fashion week is over! I still have so many shows to update you on, but right now, I cannot get the Vivienne Tam show out of my mind. It was the last show to run this season, and getting to sit front row was an amazing way to wrap up this fashion week season! I loved seeing the clothes so close up. With the models strutting down the catwalk and the awesome thumping music, it was an adrenaline rush. I could see everyone front row tapping their feet to the music! Anyways, I was super impressed with Vivienne’s collection. Every single piece had the most beautiful details. She’s a total genius. I want those satin blazers, printed tailored pants, and nubby scarves that go right up to your chin. Talk about chic! Sitting front row, I could see every detail and you could definitely tell that the quality of the clothes were superb. If only I could get my hands on one of those coats…

For this last day of shows, I went with a very goth, dark look with my brand spankin’ new Stylestalker leather “Rebel” dress. I’ve always been a huge of this Australian designer label. I will never forget the crazy day when I met the designer 2 years ago and brought her to all my favorite LA spots: In-n-Out and Diddy Reese. As you can tell, their new collection is super understated, simple, but of course, a little sexy. The leather cut-outs and snap-back may be my favorite part of this dress. Due to the chill here, I wore a thick blazer under my leather jacket for extra warmth. Perfect as being outside is freezing, especially when bouncing around Lincoln Center and snapping silly pictures with my little fashion nugget, Bonnie! This girl always gets me sing to Ricky Martin’s “Shake your BON BON” hehe. We’ve been sticking together all week, bouncing in between shows, attending events, and grabbing late night snacks at McDonald’s (oh boy). Stay tuned as I update you with more of my fashion week adventures!
