I love feeling like I’m having a spa experience in my own home. If I’m having a long and stressful day, I honestly can’t wait to get home, wipe off my makeup, and put on a face mask because come on, face masks fix everything…mentally and physically. I happen to take my nightly skincare routine very seriously. My skin has always affected my mood. If I’m having a clear day, everything is sunshine. If I see a blemish, all hell breaks loose. Summer is coming to a close, I’ve been focusing more on the texture of my skin because luckily, my break-out phase has surprisingly faded through the years. It’s now that time of year to remove all the dead skin on my surface and reveal the new! I don’t mind taking that one extra step into my skincare routine because first of all, it’s helps me unwind…plus, it shows a huge difference in my skin the moment I wake up. Clay has been the secret ingredient that works for me. The Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Cleansing Mask has been my skin detoxifier as of late.

LONG LIVE CRISP SUMMER WHITES

Here are a few outtakes from a recent campaign for Armani Beauty’s Code Colonia fragrance in Montauk, New York. It’s a scent that’s meant to be shared. What’s better than having a scent you and your lover can always come back to? For me, this one reminds me of romantic summer getaways together, from St. Martin to Ditch Plains. Here at Gurney’s Seawater Resort in Montauk, my bedsheets were as crisp and white as my favorite power suit…the perfect compliment to this fresh morning fragrance. We had some sunny days and some cloudy days, but each, equally relaxing with days spent in the indoor pool and nights by the fireplace. May the last weekend of summer and fresh whites-on-whites, live on.

STAYCATION SKIN SELF CARE

Staycations not only refresh me mentally, but physically. Waking up in a new part of town with a fresh copy of The Times. Taking a run outside in an area I wouldn’t normally venture out to. Getting in that few extra hours to snooze in your bath robe after what felt like a work week of 7 am call times. It’s being able to disconnect, retreat, and give yourself a little love in what feels like getting caught up in a city rush. The real me would love to stick in my yoga pants anytime of the week post-workout, but this time, I packed along a perfect dress-over-blouse situation for that sudden urge to go dancing. Staycations are a time for me, as a beauty lover, to also dig into my beauty dresser and whip out some new products to test. I never wear any makeup on the weekends…it’s so important to let my skin breathe and treat it with a little extra care. With every getaway, I give myself a new scent and memory.
