NEW TO MY HOME: THE SIXPENNY ARLO LEATHER SOFA

Meet the new addition to my bedroom, the stunning mid-century Sixpenny Arlo leather sofa. I fell in love with this Dark Amazonite, earthy shade. It really warmed up my bedroom, contrasting against my white duvet and complimenting my Persian rug. I had this beautiful corner of my home to fill. Surrounded by windows with the view of the both the Empire State Building and the twinkling lights of the Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges, it’s the perfect spot for a comfy piece to lounge on and just gaze out. As you know, I always order my furniture online and I’m so excited to introduce Sixpenny to you all! Their leather is incredibly soft yet firm enough thanks to it’s luxurious feather/down and fiber seat. The tufted pillows make it a statement yet casual at the exact same time. I had it Made to Order and luckily, shipping and delivery was extra easy! I like to keep my home minimal and free of clutter with a modern, mid-century twist. Sixpenny had everything I need. I’m now eyeing their sectionals next time it’s time to redecorate my living room space. Home decor is something that I had no idea I loved so much. I’m certainly minimal with an eclectic, colorful touch when it comes to my loft. Time to finally get some nice big leaves and some green to really warm up the open and industrial vibes of my space! Since I travel so much, I want to come home to a super cozy sanctuary. After 2 years in my first space as a homeowner, I’m really starting to select pieces that feel more and more like me.

SHINE FREE WITH THE OLAY LUMINOUS WHIP

This post is sponsored by Olay; all opinions are my own.

I have finally found a moisturizer that is hydrating yet fully matte: meet the Olay Luminous Whip moisturizer. With my combination skin, it’s completely normal for me to carry blotting pads around and a compact powder in my purse. I’ll look back at images of myself and always notice that little extra shine around my nose, chin, and forehead. No bueno. I have finally found a way to stop blotting and I’m in heaven.

I have completely minimized the amount of makeup I use simply with this amazing moisturizer. Because it’s absolutely shine-free, it’s the perfect base for my makeup. The moment I rub it in, it goes from a cream to a liquid, feeling light as air on my face. It’s a texture that I have never found in a beauty brand. Super creamy as any whipped moisturizer should be, yet completely weightless. Best of all? It easily doubles as a primer! My makeup goes on smoother and my skin is a lot more glow-y..

Take a peek at my latest makeup routine. First off, I cleanse and apply the Olay Luminous Whip moisturizer from my forehead to my base of my neck. I like to mix it in with a drop of foundation. For this fresh, flushed look, I swiped on a dusty rose lipstick, shimmering pink eyeshadow, and a swipe of deep pink cream blush on my cheeks. I think a rosy look works well on just about every skin tone. This is my effortless go-to makeup look. It’s shimmering and flawless, without the extra greasy shine where I hate it most: the T-zone.

THE LOVE FOR DUNTON HOT SPRINGS | ELECTRIFY GETAWAYS PART 2

I will continue to spread the love of Dunton! It truly is a special place. Here is Part 2 of my snowy adventure with Electrify Getaways at the luxurious Dunton Hot Springs in Colorado. This little ghost town is now a super dreamy resort destination with a series of luxury cabins. It’s quickly become a “must visit” location not just in the winter, but year round. If you’re in Telluride, stay at the Dunton Town House, their quaint and super chic location in the bustling ski town, before making your way for a weekend soak at Dunton Hot Springs. With Electrify Getaways, a winter weekend in Colorado is both relaxing and exhilarating. Aside from many hours bathing in the hot springs and snuggling up in our beautiful cabin, I had no idea how many amazing outdoor activities we really had planned. It felt amazing to have so much movement on a getaway. To build up a sweat. To feel the soreness of my muscles. To build up a real appetite for the delicious wholesome food and red wine waiting for us after a good hot shower. During cross country skiing, I was panting as I trekked my way through the heavy snow. I couldn’t see anything in front of me, beside me, or behind me, but it was magic. To be a little lost in Mother Nature and to see the trees towering above you. Suddenly, I felt so small. I really got to disconnect. Now that was what I needed on this getaway. I happily powered through what felt like a blizzard knowing that hot chocolate would be waiting for me in no time thanks to the Dunton team. From snow shoeing in the morning sun, and a day ice climbing (I went all the way to the top!) all I could think of was my 4pm deep tissue massage and last dip in the hot spring. I had a really relaxing “ahhhh” moment the second my toes hit the water. Now that is the best feeling in the world.

Be sure to check out more of Dunton Hot Springs and the Dunton Townhouse in Telluride at Electrify Getaways.

“THE DAY OFF” MARGARITA RECIPE

I created “The Day Off” margarita with Don Julio 70, completely inspired by the staycation. It’s light and refreshing thanks to coconut water and fresh cucumber with an added punch: chia seeds and pineapple. It is just what you’re going to want to sip on poolside. This entire month I’ve been traveling from grey city to grey city. I’m missing the sun from my native Los Angeles and just booked my travel to Nicaragua for a full week of 95 degree weather and a bikini. Surf and sun awaits!

Recipe:

1.5 oz of Don Julio 70
2 oz of  cucumber, pineapple, and lemon juice (I used a smoothie blender including pulp!)
2 oz of coconut water
1/2 a lime squeeze
2 sprinkles of chia seeds
