Old School Charm

I miss old school dressing…the cardigans, tiny smock dresses, all topped off with a heavy shearling coat. In a burnt red, and bold blue, it reminds me of my LA school’s colors. We were the Indians and I have to admit, we were pretty darn rad. Here, I’m caught on the steps of an old building in Philadelphia, right by my sister’s home. The city is full of old-school charm, and I could sit on it’s steps any day of the weekend and chat up a storm with Dylana. It wasn’t long before she reached over and snagged my little Teddy case…how adorable is this thing?! I have no idea why I’m so smitten by it…it’s so giant and squishy, doesn’t quite fit in my pocket, but sure turns heads on the subway.  I have a feeling it’s going to be passed around our group of friends before I ever get the little thing back. Anyways, I’m still currently awaiting my very own JETT MESSENGER from the Modern Vice factory…the boyfriend is promising it very soon! Then, I can finally stop snagging this sample from the showroom.

Forever Sunday

Happy Sunday! I love crazy weekends at home in the city…and in our new apartment! Already, we’ve hung our huge paintings on the wall, spilled wine (thankfully didn’t stain our rug), and chased around our friend’s crazy kid. It’s finally beginning to feel like home. This morning we’ve got bagels on delivery, and a day of thrifting with the sister on the itinerary. I’m dying to get back into recording more songs this week, so it looks like I’ve got loads to think about. For now, give me an oversize coat, a flared jean, and oversize hat…I don’t want this lazy Sunday to come to an end.

Our Boots hit San Francisco!

Oh, how I miss you sooo San Francisco! I have a secret love for huddling under umbrellas on your rainy streets and tucking away for soup in your tiny cafes. I still dream of those rows of vintage frocks (heaven) in the Haight. San Fran always reminds me of the 90’s and my childhood. Everything from the little restaurants to the charming little townhomes. My parents always called San Fran such a romantic city. My boyfriend and I were in town just around the holidays for our Modern Vice boots event at Rand + Statler, right on Hayes Street. I already miss the laidback Cali style…the boys, the whiskey, and nubby coats. How adorable is the Rand + Statler store…and with our “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” JETT collection! The flats are coming soon for Spring/Summer, and of course, our ever expanding boot collection is only looking better and better. I’m so excited working on our Spring shoes…all the colors, and dainty little flats. For now, I’m sitting back and getting nostalgic. I can’t wait to visit the bay again, and stay for even more days, to explore this rock n’roll heaven.
Stay tuned for my Rand + Statler x Modern Vice film photoshoot, shot right at Fisherman’s Wharf, coming soon!

The Boy’s Beanie

(Muubaa leather jacket, Vanessa Mooney necklace/rings/cuff, Vintage Betsey Johnson velvet dress, Ar+O sweater, Topman beanie, Marie Turnor “La Rue” hobo, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” JETT JODPHUR boots)
This week is all about moving in our new apartment. I’ve been giving away loads of my old clothes, sending some back home to California, and ohhhh, going through the boyfriend’s clothing. He’s got more hats and beanies than I do! So I followed him to Topman, and scored this bright green beanie. A vampire’s velvet dress, ice-y leather jacket, and our JETT JODPHURS have been my life lately (well, not for long…we have some crazy new boot designs coming out of the factory this week!) I’m just that crazy lady walking down the Bowery in long layers, and a hat. I cannot wait to start fresh in the new apartment, and finally get re-organized. We just need to figure out today what Perisan rug we’re going to get that fits in with our eclectic mix of furniture.
