Hand Cuffed

(Romwe sweater, J Brand Jeans, Vintage leopard bag, Jewelmint cuff bracelet)

Handcuffed? More like day 2 of my Jewelmint wearing week woot woot! This time I’m sporting a killer gold cuff. The dangling little chain gives this pretty piece some edge. Paired with my layered key rings, I had on quite a bit of metal for just a casual, mind-clearning walk to the local park. Once I was introduced to Jewelmint, I was hooooked. They’re inexpensive and just so cool for everyday wear. This is basically my uniform for days spent at home: a super comfy, oversize striped sweater and a great pair of fitted jeans. Oh yeah, and a sweet vintage handbag I snatched at a garage sale. Can you say SCORE?

The Key Ring

(Motel Rocks dress, Mango leather jacket, Hue dotted tights, Jewelmint key ring)

As you know, I’m obsessed with all kinds of rings. Right now, I can’t stop wearing this Jewelmint key ring. I love how it comes as 3 separate pieces that I can wear anyway I want…either stacked all together or each on a different finger. It’s a bit mysterious, with it’s dangling locks and little open key hole. Speaking of dark, mysterious things, I’m back to black and it may be because of the weather that I’m leaning towards darker shades. I wish it hasn’t been so cloudy here in SoCal. I need me some sun! But I still went out in a tiny figure hugging dress. With something so prim and proper, my leather jacket made the whole look feel more me.

Stay tuned as I will be showcasing a new Jewelmint piece everyday this week! For now, receive 50% off your first purchase with the promo code: DUTY

Surf Baby

(Doris Apparel sweater, Paige Premium Denim leather leggings (get them here), Matt Bernson shoes, Ax + Apple necklace, Marie Turnor bag)

I spent my afternoon up in the serene hills of Los Angeles, home to Beth Goodman, the designer behind the handbag label, Marie Turnor. As the designer to this wonderful bag I’m carrying, it’s no wonder that her home is just as beautiful as the bags she creates. After driving up narrow, winding streets, I finally arrived at her beautiful Spanish-style abode. Beth is such a free spirited, amazing woman, and I’m so pleased we finally got to meet in person. We first met virtually via email and when I checked out the Marie Turnor website, I knew right away that her pieces were right up my alley. She described my style as “feminine, but without all the frills” (SO TRUE) and same goes with her handbags which are simple and classic to the max. Plus, the leather she uses are superb and I love the fact that everything is made right here in Los Angeles.

For this day at Beth’s, sipping fresh berry and kale smoothies (fresh straight from her garden) and overlooking the gorgeous LA views, I went with a very beachy, surf inspired look. I’m obsessed with this crochet knit, which reminds me of a fishing net, and so paired it with something on the opposite side of the fashion spectrum: leather pants. It was such an awesome day running around town…with great company, and of course one super cool new handbag. I’m addicted to it’s effortless vibe.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

(“Natalie Suarez for Volcom” blouse and vegan leather skirt (in stores June ’12), Volcom leopard jacket)

I’m pleased to introduce “Natalie Suarez for Volcom Fall ’12” WOOHOOO! These are just two pieces out of my collection that I’ve been wearing like crazy (the top comes in another colorway too). Though the entire line won’t be in stores around the world until June, I’m allowed to give you readers a sneak preview! For fall, I’m BIG on this gorgeous bright coral color. And for the blouse, I wanted something just super oversized and very, very square. I can wear this daily, it’s that amazing. And the color is definitely a head turner! This vegan leather skirt has to be one of my favorite items out of the whole collection because it’s just so simple, but still super sexy and rock n’ roll. The extra high waist gives my figure some shape! Here I was caught lolling around Abbot Kinney in Venice…you know, with the itsy bitsy spider, and all. I think everywhere I go, I fall in love with certain walls. This one, with it’s splattered yellow paint and cheeky wall art, made it picture perfect. Throughout these next few months, I will be giving more sneak previews of my designs for Volcom even before our lookbook is out, so stay tuned babes!
