COLLAB OF THE SEASON | RAG & BONE X VUARNET

rag-and-bone-vuarnet-natalie-lim-10

I was looking for the perfect pair of sunglasses with both quality and design and fell madly in love with the rag & bone x Vuarnet collaboration. rag & bone is a NYC classic from their jeans to their beautiful leather jackets. I think the key word to describe them is edgy with a masculine touch. Their love for quality and design shows with every single piece. All made with a little love of course. I was thrilled to hear that they now have these sunglasses to add to my look. They’ve combined their very classic taste in colors with Vaurnet’s French minimalism in design. The blue lenses. Yellow lenses. White frames. Black frames. So chic and universal with that tough-girl attitude. All 100% UV protected, that I can easily take them from the city streets up to the snowy mountains this winter and actually know my sunnies are working in fighting off the harsh rays. I find mirrored lenses to be such a statement look. Best with some very minimal denim on denim. With holiday travels just around the corner, these next 2 weeks are just going to be insanely jammed packed. Christmas in California is going to feel so good. This look definitely brings a bit of that California sunshine to NYC. It’s the reflective lenses and easy denim looks of mine that gives away all of my Californication. Complete with a messy low bun and a great pair of flats. Let’s just get through the NYC holiday rush!

TRAVELING IN STYLE TO ART BASEL | NETJETS

net-jets-art-basel-natalie-lim-suarez-3

I can definitely get used to flying around the world in a private jet. The team and I went to Art Basel with NetJets, and it was the most amazing travel experience. NetJets is so fantastic for those quick mid-week trips. No long lines at the airport, or crazy wait at security. Simply pull up with your carry-on luggage and jump on. Champagne in hand. Anything goes, really when it comes to flying private. Just get a handful of your friends for your next big adventure. It was pure luxury from the decor to the food, complete with an amazing flight crew. Talk about the life of a rockstar. I certainly had to dress the part in my oversize vintage coat and hat! And I love any reason to dress up before a flight. Luckily the jet had wifi, so I got to still be connected, finishing up some last minute work before ripping off my coat in sunny Miami. Traveling has seriously never felt better.

What I love about Art Basel is of course escaping the winter for a hot, hot December weekend in Miami. The New Yorker in me loves any reason for a quick 48 hours on the beach. I packed light with only a few bikinis and of course, the occasional party dress. Miami is all about what happens once the sun goes down. Art Basel has some of the most extravagant parties right on the sand with beautiful purplish-pink sunsets. It’s also one of my absolute favorite times of the year to people watch. Basel brings in a wild crowd of quirky and eccentric people in from all over the world with one thing in common: a love for art…oh, and let’s not forget the partying. One of my favorite exhibits was at Faena Bazaar, a curated shop of high-end designers along with an insanely cool virtual reality installment created by the team of the theatre play, Sleep no More. Virtual reality definitely felt very real. When we weren’t out exploring and discovering new things, the rest of the day were spent by the hotel pool or in the jacuzzi at the Four Seasons followed by more gallery hopping. The art deco style of Miami keeps my camera glued to my hands. Nights of course were spent on the dance floor. There was so much to see and do, it’s so hard to fit it all in! Team Suarez likes to work hard and play hard. After our two wild nights, we simply put on our dark sunglasses and hopped on board. Au revoir.

90s inspired denim

denim-natalie-lim-suarez-1

Remember the denim suits Britney and Justin wore at the American Music Awards over 15 years ago? I’m kind of obsessed with it. This is my own take on 90’s denim. Jocelyn just launch J. Military, and I became obsessed with her denim and cargo. Embellished with dozens of safety pins, but of course glamorized with a touch of fur. Badass indeed. You know me, I love things that are weird and unexpected. Things that aren’t always so pretty and put-together, but rather interesting and tell a story. Complete the look with a glittering lip and call it a day. The one by Bite Beauty is a must-have.

BLACK OUT IN ETRO

etro-natalie-lim-suarez-1

The way NYC sparkles will never get old to me. Hiding in the dark corridors of Tribeca. The excitement of crossing the bridge and sticking my head out the window. Letting your hair flow. NYC is glamorous in the most simple form, if you let it be. Just close your eyes and listen. Shoes clacking down the cobblestone streets. The buzz of traffic. Chaos in the bars. Even more exciting when Etro surprises you one afternoon with the most perfect dress for a very special extravaganza. I fell in love with this special silk gown the moment it arrived, straight off the Etro runway. The plaid print intertwined with a beautiful twist of exotic flowers. Not to mention that very unexpected peek of skin on the back. It’s a delicate way to bring some punk to everything glam. Sometimes you want to embrace your feminine side with a dress that hugs you in all the right places. Forget everything else, and let the city take you into the night.
