CITY OF CHAMPAGNE | REIMS

We had just landed in Paris for our Veuve Clicquot adventure in the beautiful city of champagne: Reims, France. I’ve got a full rundown coming soon for you and I can’t wait to fill you in on all things CHAMPAGNE and take you on a private tour of the exclusive Hotel Du Marc. Talk about one magical, magical trip. From Paris we took a 1.5 hour drive to Reims and arrived just during magic hour. It was a sleepy Sunday afternoon, and I had to cure my jetlag with a good cup of coffee. Quiet little cafes and empty roads. Just the sounds of birds chirping by the ferris wheel. But it was just what we needed before what turned out to be a wild few days of literally popping bottles…but you know, with a certain je ne sais quoi. Our team of editors and photographers were in high spirits despite the fact that we all flew the longest flights into France from around the world. But all was okay as soon as we walked around Reims, for the sunlight in France somehow always bounces off the pale buildings into a gold hue that I just go gah-gah for and makes you forget any sort of jet lag that may me overtaking us. Bonjour!

LES COLONNES

I’m finally getting to our last day in Paris. What felt like ages ago. Just before heading to the airport, we stumbled upon the Les Colonnes De Buren in the inner courtyard of the Palais Royal, an art installation from 1985. Hopping from stone to stone, and getting dizzy just looking at it. Especially after the hangover that comes with a true Parisian night out by the canal. Sipping on Jamaican cocktails, stumbling out the bar, just to find that the pot-head pickpocketer snatched your friend’s phone from her purse. Don’t stay out too late chicas, you never know what will happen! So to complete our French excursion, we had one last meal. Not the baguettes from the corner bakery, nor the delicious Vietnamese pho from Les Marais that I still crave, but a quick pit stop at H.A.N.D.S for a traditional American breakfast. Yes it means “Have a Nice Day.” Eggs, bacon, and toast. I guess we really are all American girls.

MIRROR MIRROR

I always miss everything about Paris. The light-filled bathrooms that make getting ready in the morning that much more spectacular. The narrow streets that seem like they go for miles and miles in the distance. The rugged edges of front doors. The boys on bikes. Red wine at any and every hour. Not sure when will be the next time I will be back to this beatiful city, but I hope that it is sooner than later.

MISS EIFFEL

Days in Paris are meant for walking and soaking in it’s beauty until you’re so tired, you just have to sit down for a big glass of wine…and wifi. But it feels good to be disconnected. We had those simple moments leaning our heads back on the chairs at the Louvre as bursts of sunlight sporadically made it’s way through the clouds. The French either reading a book or staring up into the blue sky. Talk about a very chill Paris Fashion Week. I’m always down for a chat and good company as opposed to the crazy crowds of the front row.
