Talk about the perfect midi. River Island nailed it on the head with this little black dress and I love how it subtly screams “festival”, without throwing too much fringe or crochet in your face! Sleek and simple, just the way I like it. Blending in with the black night desert sky, so clear you can see the stars. It’s the perfect backstage look…when you’re just leaving the festival and headed out to that party with the top secret address. Who says you need sleep anyways?!

Style

“COACHELLA OR BUST” painted in neon on nearly car in parked in Palm Springs. We made it, and have so far, survived the first 2 days of what I like to call: COACHZILLA. Because Palm Springs really becomes a monster weekend one. 90 degree weather. Jack White slaying on stage. Bohemian brunches to last a lifetime. I’ve surprisingly been donning a ton of black. My straw bolero perfectly weathered under the desert sun. As the day goes on, the less and less clothes I find myself wearing. Suddenly I’m in the crowds in nothing but a bikini top and the shortest denim shorts I own. I have officially gave in to grungy Coachella attire. I can’t wait to sit under a palm tree come 2pm.

Can you say fringe, crochet, and a whole lotta love?! Festival season means pure rock n’ roll and I’m loving everything in MISSGUIDED‘s new festival collection. Who says you need flower crowns and blasts of neon? I’m teaming up with the UK label for Lollapalooza, and it’s all about a darker, more sultry palette to play with out in the festival crowds. Smoking hot! KISS. The Rolling Stones. Guns n’ Roses. Those are top up on my playlist en route to Chicago come July. Time to just throw on a look that will last you from morning till night. At the hotel pool to backstage. I’m thinking lots of leg, and anything I can move and shake in. Who’s with me?

Summer is officially on my mind. And this season, I’m doing things a little differently. I’ve traded in my slip-on sandals for this breathable new sneaker by Reef: the ROVER. I grew up with the California label, known for it’s killer surf vibe and effortless style. Trust me, California girls do it better. Everything’s made for digging your feet in the sand, and running to and from the next wave. With festival season rapidly approaching (see you at COACHELLA) I’ve been looking for the perfect shoe to dance the night away in the desert sand. Who said sneakers were only for the treadmill?! I like to style the Reef Rover with floral prints and mini dresses, layered with bikinis and sunhats. I can’t explain how lightweight and amazing this sneaker really is. Sleek and simple, it goes with everything. Now give me a pina colada, a bottle of sunscreen, and my shortest denim shorts. California, here we come.
