Outfit Crush

I stumbled upon this image the other day and I am obsessed with it. It’s librarian chic on the bottom (long wool skirt, tights, and ballet flats) yet very 50’s Grease Lightning rockabilly on the top (rocker tee, worn in denim jacket, cat eye sunglasses, and leather gloves). With the gorgeous plum lip, can this outfit get any cooler? A perfect ensemble mixing classic and edgy pieces. I. Want. It.

Orange Red

(Vintage coat, H&M sweater, Threadsence skirt, BCBG boots)

I need something to lift my spirits in the midst of this rainy and gloomy weather we have been having and so I have been pulling a lot of color from my wardrobe. I’m currently obsessed with a burnt orange red shade against darker tones. It just pops. I’m looking for an awesome pair of bright pink or red pants. Know where I can come a pair?! Going anywhere outside sounds dreadful right now because of the chill and rain clouds hovering overhead. This weather is getting on my last nerve. My house is freezing and I never really feel like getting dressed, but rather staying bundled up indoors with a huge wool blanket. Sun, COME BACK. Yet I shouldn’t be complaining. Next week, I’m heading over to Seattle for a shoot, where I hear it is currently snowing/raining cats and dogs. But I’m still SUPER excited to visit a city that is totally new to me. For now, I’m off to my agency for a little meet n greet all while desperately craving a Chipotle burrito and vintage shopping. Ciao!

P.S. I’ve been getting so many emails regarding the lipstick shade I always wear. It’s Plum Perfect by Maybelline. Seriously, it’s like $5 at the drugstore and the most amazing shade ever!

Long and Sheer

(Forever 21 sweater, Yaya skirt, BCBG boots, Bally Bag, Urban Revisions glass ring/F21 rings)

On a day full of castings, I am usually one to stick with a great pair of skinny jeans. They show your body, are simple, normally requested by the brand, etc etc. But being completely bored with my usual minimalism, I opted for something a little different today. I scored this beautiful maxi skirt at Urban Outfitters and am completely in love with it’s long flowing back and sheer fabric. It is something I see myself wearing to an event or barefoot at the beach. Today I went with a great pair of ground stomping boots and a knitted sweater. It was such a beautiful day…definitely worth getting a little dressed up for.

Here is the editorial of both Dylana and I shot by Sharon Gong for the March/April 2011 issue of Atomica Magazine created by model/blogger Kelsea Kosko. I hope you like it! Sharon knew she wanted to shoot on the beach, but the sun was so high that we had to wait it out till the evening for the perfect shots. Finally we found a quiet spot on the beach in the Pacific Palisades and I’m so pleased with the results. Sharon, the most talented 16 year old I know, is so mellow and easy to work with. She creates magic every single time.
