To the Ballet

(Bebe blazer, AGAIN tee, American Apparel skirt, J.Crew flats, Vintage bag)

I’m currently lusting over anything ballerina. The little ballet flats and pastel pink shades feel so fresh for spring. It’s easy, simple, and chic. I love a great pleated skirt with a soft gray tee. Loose layers at their best. Plus, it is extremely comfortable. I just want to dance around and watch this pretty little skirt shimmer lol.

I might even throw this look into my suitcase for my time in Spain next week. I’m a bit freaked out, I haven’t even started packing! Apparently the weather is a bit up and down, so I’ll be sure to bring layers that can easily be thrown off and on. I’m flying out tomorrow morning to work on a fun project with my favorite Spanish brand, MANGO. I’ll be there for a week! The video I shot for the Que Me Pongo MANGO campaign will out in a few weeks as well and I’m both excited and nervous to see it (it is a web series and episode 1 is already out!)

Gaah, it’s going to be my first time in Europe and I cannot wait wait to share my adventures with you. I know I’m going to go crazy taking pictures so bear with me if my next posts are incredibly long!

Photographs by Carmen Chan for How I Met Your Style: “intimate portraits of your favorite style inspirations”

Dylana and I were photographed in our home by the incredible Carmen Chan. Carmen, a photographer I have worked with before on photoshoots, just created a beautiful style site with Ken Wu called How I Met Your Style to display intimate portraits of people inspiring fashion today. I am in awe, being considered a style inspiration hehhe (thanks Carmen!) We had the best time shooting around our home. It was wonderful getting photographed in our natural environments. Carmen was free to roam about and shoot objects from both our bedrooms and workplace. I’m so pleased with the result. It’s so nice to have some special images together. So there you have it, the official launch of How I Met Your Style.

Volcomunity.com Introductory VIDEO!

I am so excited to announce the launch of the Volcomunity website! It launches this next Monday the 21st, but I wanted to give you all a heads up with my intro video! Ever since I shot my first campaign shoot with Volcom last year, I really got to connect with the brand. Their design team is amazing and I’m head over heels for all their new pieces. We’re talking killer button-ups, gorgeous frocks/maxi dresses, and some of the coolest skinny jeans ever. As their new face, I also have a column on the Volcomunity blog! So so exciting I must say. It’s going to be completely spontaneous and fun. We shot this video up by the Griffith Observatory (one of my absolute favorite places in LA) bright an early one morning. I’m surprised my eyes are open! Getting to be a part of this project is incredible and I cannot wait to get up more posts and work with their videographer on more videos! 🙂 Also contributing to Volcomunity is Jennifer Herrema (singer/Volcom denim designer), the Posso girls (DJ’s/style icons), Savanna Grace (talented young writer), Chelsea Salisbury (Volcom swimwear model hailing from Texas), as well as a column all about our stellar Volcom women athletes. Really a rad group of girls sharing their thoughts on fashion, music, and everything else in between!! Having Dylana as the Volcom social media/blog coordinator has been amazing as well. Volcom has become one big family!

UPDATE: The site launches on Monday, the 21st! Be sure to check back at Volcomunity.com!

Side Swept

(Vintage dress, Forever 21 blazer, BCBG shoes)

One thing I really hate is STRONG WINDS. And that hissing sound that comes through the cracks of my window? Yep, dislike. But I sucked it up to take a few snapshots of my outfit which I actually loved dearly until sand swept through my legs and my bangs refused to stay down. I went with a flowy vintage number, a blazer, and some platform boots. Super simple. I love a little movement in the fabric, but I think the day’s wind just gave my dress a bit too much sway.
