Twisting and Turning through NYFW

Is it weird to say I feel like a complete pilgrim in this little vintage dress? I picked up this baby in the east village and fell even deeper in love with it this NYFW. The full pleated skirt makes me want to twist and turn…the sleeves remind me of a circus..and I just can’t get enough of it. I stayed in this printed number from morning to night…jumping from breakfast to shows. By the time dinner rolls around, I’m a bit a mess, with giant hair and worn-in boots. Anyways, between all the shows, there’s always one a day I love in particular. This time? Rebecca Minkoff. Live tunes, wavey do’s, and some beautiful bold prints really make me long for a holiday next spring somewhere beach-y. Now we’ve got just one more day to embrace all the NYFW madness. Sad it’s almost over?

Between Shows

(Stylestalker dress, Levi’s shirt, Thrifted backpack, Dr. Marten’s boots)
In the midst of New York fashion week, I haven’t really sat down once! There are just too many people I know that are in town…my Cali girls, my NYC girls, my Europe girls, and everyone else in between! So far, it’s been one giant weekend of never-ending meet-ups…oh and meals. We broke the world record of sitting for a 5 hour dinner! See? Things happen when you’re surrounded by people you haven’t seen in about a year! And like I’ve said before, I never really planned anything to wear for fashion week. My rule: taking pieces I love and tweaking it a bit. I love this leather Stylestalker dress. I wore it during FNO to host Swarovski, and again yesterday. With different shirts underneath each time, it feels brand spankin’ new. Just a few more days of NYFW craziness, then I’m off to London for some Brit fun. September, you rock.

Sugar and Spice

(Minkpink dress, Levi’s men’s vest, Giles & Brother gold knot cuff, Concrete Polish silver cluster ring, Vanessa Mooney rings, Ax + Apple necklaces, Stela 9 handbag, Modern Vice “Fitzgerald” loafers)
It’s drizzling and gloomy out, but inside my apartment’s full of life…invaded with crazy girls. The futon’s out for guests and the floors are covered with clothes. Yep, just another New York fashion week morning. I’m still super sleepy from late night! It was pure rock n’ roll…Blood Orange on the stage, and tons of dancing. Thank you Nasty Gal for bring the Cali to New York and showing us a good time!! This little floral get-up is one look that I can wear over and over, and yes, I wore it AGAIN last night. A teeny tiny dress, a men’s Levi’s vest, and yep, the softest little suede loafers I’ve ever had. It’s sweet with a tiny bit of spice. My feet have never felt cuter! These little Modern Vice flats will definitely help me get through all NYFW festivities! Off to brunch we gooooooo. Don’t think I’ll be getting much sleep until after London, yikers!!

Levi’s “GO FORTH” Campaign Video

Here it is, my Levi’s “Go Forth” campaign video! This is one project that’s meant the world to me. I loved working with such an iconic All-American denim label. I think the real me was captured perfectly in this video. It was all shot here in NYC, in my apartment, and at all the places that hold my memories. We kept the shoot very natural. Barely there makeup, and just my favorite Levi’s mixed in with their latest collection. This is just a short glimpse into my New York story. From coming to a new place, young and hungry, to finding inner peace through embracing the chaos and imperfections that are a part of everyday life. This past year has been life changing, and I couldn’t be happier.

Levi’s, you’ve captured this bit of my life so beautifully. Here’s to going forth.
