NYFW has officially started for me today. Already mentally getting myself into shape. The wacky outfits, the big egos, it’s all coming out to play, and it’s silly, but I enjoy the madness. And watching. I have had some really intense NYFW’s, and now I remember to just BREATHE. There’s absolutely no way to make it to every one of your friend’s shows because 1. it’s hard to walk in your favorite shoes. 2. everything’s at the same time. 3. you might get a cold from that sneezing person sitting next to you (emergen-C please!). I’ve learned to take it slow, and still try to find that one moment to stretch. Front row or backstage. Wherever. It’s obvious that going to the gym during fashion week is put on the backburner. So it won’t be until next week that you’ll find me back at it jumproping, and hitting the dance floor with Missy Elliot on repeat. Who knew workout clothes could be so darn fun? I’m digging the look of a flattering sports bra, and the low rise of a dropcrotch pant.

When I spotted this jumpsuit, I immediately thought of Jane Birkin’s white lace maxi dress with that super LOW v-neckline. Right on Serge Gainsbourg’s arm. Swoooooon. I’m totally digging this new jumpsuit version made by my favorite babes, For Love and Lemons. Constantly bringing sexy back. A fun, more wearable take on Birkin’s iconic ensemble. I’m dying to take this look out for a night of disco dancing here in the city. Last I wore it was back at my home in LA, prancing around in my bedroom in this little onesie, with not a care in the world. Sometimes you can just dress up at home even when you have absolutely no plans to go out.

I’m all about experimenting with new beauty balms, and day creams. Now, I’ve kicked it up a notch with face OIL. Something I never thought I’d put on my skin. When it works, I stick with it. My makeup artists on set are always throwing a new product in my face: “USE THIS.” Immediately, I’m typing it down in my cell phone, looking it up on Shopstyle, ready to hit BUY NOW. After all of these years of modeling, I’ve narrowed down what it is that actually works. A lot of our skin is too sensitive for acne creams (hello dry patches, and yuckiness!) so I say, MOISTURIZE and let your skin be. These luxury beauty items make my face feel like a baby’s bottom. Soft, moisturized, and ready for whatever life throws my way! Ice, wind, snow, and sun…stop wreaking havoc! The Sunday Riley cellular face oil all you need to seep into your skin just before bedtime. The Estee Lauder DayWear moisturizer with SPF 15 is just what I like to use throughout the day whenever I need that extra sun protection, and moisture surge. Sunday Riley breathable tinted primer keeps everything looking in tip-top shape, masking and soothing the redness you can get from the cold. Trust me, less is definitely more so you don’t cause irritation. So I like to stick with: face oil, cream, and primer.

Style

Sometimes you just want that rush to spook you out. Running through a dark cemetary, feeling the chill creep up from the grass. The only place to feel real silence in the midst of the bustling Brooklyn streets. We tip-toed through this Bushwick cemetary, finding it errily perfect for photographs. Shot back when the leaves were just changing. These were the days I found myself throwing on this luxurious fur coat, even if it was just for taking a walk to the grocery store. It’s funny these little things that bring you excitement.
