HOLA SAN JUAN

condado-19resized

Buenos Dias from San Juan, Puerto Rico! It felt so good to be able to walk outside in nothing but a pair of shorts and a crop top for the first time in what felt like eternity. Our faces glistening and dewy thanks to the heat. I fell in love with this colorful, spicy city that I’ve only heard so much about. Apparently New Yorkers are just obsessed with visiting PR because come on, it’s only about 3 hours flight away to heaven! Besides the clear blue waters, San Juan has so much history, mixed with new contemporary beauty. Me and our travel babes decided to get in our van and be taken anywhere…and see the real San Jaun. The San Juan outside outside our luxurious Condado Vanderbilt hotel walls. There’s definitely more to this place than a beach to get tan on. No complaints there, but we were on a mission to get some incredilble photos, GRUB, and adventures. All while practicing our español. We stopped at Kamoli Cafe…intigued by it’s bohemian vibe, complete with bright pink and electric blue walls. We wanted anything…coffee, food. We’re hungry gals! It wasn’t until the next few days that we really got to digging our teeth into real local food. Mofongo, bone marrow, galore! I’ve got loads more stories to tell. But first, here’s just a tiny slice of Puerto Rico.

MISS EIFFEL

Days in Paris are meant for walking and soaking in it’s beauty until you’re so tired, you just have to sit down for a big glass of wine…and wifi. But it feels good to be disconnected. We had those simple moments leaning our heads back on the chairs at the Louvre as bursts of sunlight sporadically made it’s way through the clouds. The French either reading a book or staring up into the blue sky. Talk about a very chill Paris Fashion Week. I’m always down for a chat and good company as opposed to the crazy crowds of the front row.

STAGE WHISPER

I miss that golden glow that just radiates in Paris. I think of Jane and Serge. Charlotte’s “Stage Whisper.” Always on repeat on my playlist. Romantic and sultry. We found ourself leaning over the baloncy, just to get a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower lighting up, laughing like children and holding our wine. Screaming out words in our horrible French accents. Paris is more about enjoying the quality of life. Sitting in a cafe, and staring out into the street. Long conversations in the back of the nightclub. In America, we call it “straight up chilling.” But in France, it’s just a part of everyday life. Merci beaucoup. I think I finally know how to be Parisian.

SISTER THING | DYLANA

What would I do without this lovely babe?! My big sister and best friend, Dylana is also one of my absolute favorites to photograph. This was taken in between shots during Stockholm Fashion Week in Sweden, and though we were extremely jetlagged and delirius, we couldn’t help but smile at everything and fully enjoying the present. The chill by the water numbing yet exhilarating. Like Wayne’s World (our favorite movie) states “LIVE IN THE NOW.” We’re constantly stuck in our own little worlds, singing to our tune, and immediately recognizing eachother’s thoughts. I guess it’s a sister thing. But mostly, Dylana’s writing always leave me inspired, and tingling at my toes. Saying the things we wish we could all say so easily and eloquently. Here are some of my favorites.

“The beating of my physical heart. The twisting of my broken heart. The flutters of my happy heart. I am thankful that I am able to feel and learn from each emotion at its fullest.”- Dylana Suarez

“That it is up to me to make things better and to live the life that I have always wanted for myself and for the people I choose to be a part of my life. To be open to the things that are good with clear eyes. I have recognized all these things. And for that I am grateful. Grateful that I have learned to brush myself off after I have fallen and to not let any bruise stay on me forever.” -Dylana Suarez
