SISTER THING | DYLANA

dylana-stockholm-10resized

What would I do without this lovely babe?! My big sister and best friend, Dylana is also one of my absolute favorites to photograph. This was taken in between shots during Stockholm Fashion Week in Sweden, and though we were extremely jetlagged and delirius, we couldn’t help but smile at everything and fully enjoying the present. The chill by the water numbing yet exhilarating. Like Wayne’s World (our favorite movie) states “LIVE IN THE NOW.” We’re constantly stuck in our own little worlds, singing to our tune, and immediately recognizing eachother’s thoughts. I guess it’s a sister thing. But mostly, Dylana’s writing always leave me inspired, and tingling at my toes. Saying the things we wish we could all say so easily and eloquently. Here are some of my favorites.

“The beating of my physical heart. The twisting of my broken heart. The flutters of my happy heart. I am thankful that I am able to feel and learn from each emotion at its fullest.”- Dylana Suarez

“That it is up to me to make things better and to live the life that I have always wanted for myself and for the people I choose to be a part of my life. To be open to the things that are good with clear eyes. I have recognized all these things. And for that I am grateful. Grateful that I have learned to brush myself off after I have fallen and to not let any bruise stay on me forever.” -Dylana Suarez

BERLIN CRAWL

street22resizedI miss Berlin. Our endless food crawl, picture taking, and tiresome feet. The unknown little nooks we ended up in, all worth the walk. Berlin beer. Crepes for dinner. Unlimited wine tastings. The Anne Frank museum. My new year’s resolution is to continue exploring, and never stay in one place. Luckily, my job has always allowed me to go wherever I feel! Traveling is a rush, and so worth the “I can’t open my eyes but I will anyways” feeling in the morning at your hotel. There’s always something to look forward to. Like Dad always says “The road is always better than the inn.”  I’m currently making my pal Sabrina stamp that on one of my new cuffs as a daily reminder. It’s the journey that counts.

ANTIQUING AND BBQING

hudson21resized

You know how much I love taking a classic road trip, especially during the fall. I love the gloomy skies, the crisp air blowing in your face…and a car full of snacks along with a good playlist. I always catch myself taking videos with my head stuck outside the window. We hit the road up to Hudson, NY (a good two and half hour drive). It’s a teeny, tiny town. Quaint, and known for it’s absolutely AMAZING antique shops. Just moving into a new apartment, the decor and furniture we saw were inspiring. Eclectic, fun, and interesting pieces.  In Hudson, you can kind of escape into your own world, discovering old, lost treasures. You can hide in the back of a restaurant for some bbq brisket, or get lost in a book at the bookstore. Now that’s my cup of tea.

ROADTRIP PLAYLIST:

Eyes without A Face by Billy Idol
Hot Hands by Darius
Emotional Rescue (In Filagranti remix) by The Rolling Stones
The Morning by The Weeknd
Riders of the Storm by The Doors
Fade Out Lines by The Avener
Bonnie & Clyde by Serge Gainsbourg

SWEDISH FISH | Stockholm

I’ve got more for you from chilly SWEDEN. Stockholm was always a MUST-SEE destination on my travel list. The fashion. The food.  The music. It’s just an incredibly beautiful city. A small city that felt huge. It wasn’t until after days of taking public transportation, I realized I could have walked the whole town. I’d definitely do Stockholm Fashion Week again and again! From getting splashed on at Cheap Monday’s show, discovering places that I can’t even pronounce, to the violins and the drums harmonizing on the runway, it was refreshing and inspiring. The girls and boys wear black…minimal but in the best way. The streets clean and beautiful.
As you know, I was with my Swed’s over at VideofyMe documenting our wild adventures through my smartphone. See more candid videos here
