SISTER SWIRLS – NYC to SEOUL

fashion-month-natalie-suarez-5

Dylana and I love to take our 70’s inspired favorites and mix it in with our minimals. I loved this look from NYFW. It’s cozy enough to wear time and time again. Those psychadelic swirls, nubby leather coats, and Dy’s extra pink sunnies. I’m currently in SEOUL, South Korea, for their fashion week (who would have thought it’d still be fashion week in the month of October?!) and I’m super inspired by what we’ve been seeing on the runways. Eclectic layering. Boyish blazers. Simplistic street style. There’s everything here. But what I’m loving most is the Korean bbq and killer face masks (ever heard of a broccoli or snail muccus face mask?!) Stay tuned.

ON THE AMALFI COAST

unnamed-25

Amalfi is indeed one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The pastel, sunsoaked walls of the beautiful homes just perched so perfectly on the side of the cliffs. Baby pinks, peeling whites, faded orange, and lemon yellows. The way the plants, fruits, and vegetables grow is just amazing. So lush. So vibrant. Amalfi is so full of life. Just like the rows and rows of candy-colored beach umbrellas lining the beach. We swerved in our Fiat 500 this way and that, through the tiny roads on the cliff overlooking the blue-green waters down below. Our speakers blasting. My map in hand. I felt like I was in an old romance novel. Only the sounds of splashing water, motorcycles zooming by, and wine glasses clinking. Nothing felt real. I just wanted to pinch myself as I let my hair fly with my head out the car window. I could have spent forever floating in those crystal clear waters. Laying back and looking up into the clear blue sky. Squinting at the houses perched high up in Rada. Days were spent at the beach in a tiny red and white striped bikini. Nights in my spaghetti strapped dress, sipping bellinis in Positano, the neighboring town that just screams old school ritz. All in all, Amalfi has that charm and gorgeousness that is not at all intimidating, but rather welcoming. I can’t wait to return to this magical place that glitters everywhere you look.

Where to next?! ROMA.

1 NIGHT IN NAPOLI

naples-natalie-suarez-9

I knew the moment we pulled into Naples, just after leaving Porto Santo Stefano, that I was going to just LOVE this city. It is gritty. There’s a bit of madness, and it’s just pure chaotic. Three things I crave when I’m traveling. The excitement and unexpectedness that comes with some wild adventures. That ounce of danger. But again, we only had thoughts on food. We had just one night to find the perfect pizza in Naples, and we were on a mission. We grabbed two giant pies of margherita pizza off the streets of the bazaar. One for me. One for him of course. Almost anywhere you can find a good slice. Only complete with a ton of hot chili of course. I honestly could not get over the food in Italy. I wanted pizza every single day for lunch. It was that addicting. Not at all thinking of the elliptical in my gym. Traveling, the way we do it, is an exercise within itself. Walking, swimming, hiking. You can eat anything you want and get away with it. Same with my wardrobe. It was so hot I only stuck with denim, and loads of it. A tiny shift dress, and the red bandana that has accompanied me all over the world…with still more places to discover.

24 Hours in OHIO

natalie-suarez-macys-ohio-4

This year has brought me all over the world. All the way from Paris to the charming Columbus, Ohio! I was hosting the Macy’s Front Row event, and I feel lucky to have met such amazing readers that came by to watch the show. Even if I was only in town for 24 hours. I’m now completely used to visiting a new city for such a short time. My work has been like that since I started modeling at 15, and hasn’t changed one bit. I love every minute of it. It always comes with very little sleep and one packed carry-on luggage. (I always just go for denim, denim, and more denim. This fringed pair by 3×1 is a new favorite). We had one night out in the atistic Short North District. Go for the truffle mushroom pizza at Marcello’s and a margherita at Bakersfield. Mmmmhmm.
