In Dubai, it’s all about glamour. This is a city that loves and lives for luxury. I felt completely at home because there was so much NYC in Dubai. Being a city full of expats from all over the world, you really get a taste for so many diverse cultures. But I wanted a real taste of the city’s Middle Eastern culture. We visited the desert of Dubai simply on a safari complete with scarves around our heads to protect us from the sun and wind while we clutched onto the bumpy ride for this thrilling adventure. Dylana and  I were in town shooting with Carolina Herrera, so of course I styled up some amazing CH pieces like stunning silk scarves tied as a top, a gorgeous maxi skirt, along with the beautiful Insignia bag. There is something so iconic about the desert here in Dubai. The sand and hills go on as far as the eye can see. I love the color pops here contrasted against the soft, sandy hills. It was a super hot, but beautiful afternoon. We sipped on traditional tea with the locals before zooming through the desert in our bright red jeep scouting out shooting locations. I love being able to move and play with iconic poses out here in the open land. It was freeing. Before we got a bit too sunburn, the team and I headed to Al Maha, a resort and spa in the middle of the desert for a little R&R. We had a delicious brunch out on the porch, while gazelles walked freely by us. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. A very peaceful, serene moment that can never be recreated again. I just soaked it all up pinching myself at how lucky I was to be right there in that moment.

My love for Preen by Thornton Bregazzi continues with this spectacular red sequin midi. But it’s not just any sequin party dress, it’s a piece of art. I want to collect every single one of Preen’s dresses. I took this piece through the Mojave Desert yesterday on the way to Viva Las Vegas. Clearly, I have that old school Nevada glamour on my mind. I love the contrast of something so glamorous against something so simple, dusty, and raw. We hopped out of the car and caught that very last light of sunset. It brought out the fire red color even more. I feel so inspired and free in this environment. A dress made of dreams, windswept hair, and a worn-in pair of cowboy boots. I will always love the quiet and peacefulness of the open road. Today I’m keeping things short and sweet as I’m away on holiday. I tend to get more inspired as I’m on the road, coming up with new concepts and grabbing my camera. Team Suarez never stops. Keep checking back in for more in the wild, wild west.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO WEAR PLAID IN PARIS

These two looks are all about plaid, featuring items in my closet that I wear on repeat. The chunky knit sweater. The statement turtleneck dress. The tweed skirt. Gucci, Lie Sang Bong, and Mulberry. All amazing designers that are taking plaid to the next level. I miss Paris already! When I’m in town for work, the days fly by, and my jet lag is always absolutely insane. I’m a happy girl if I get one second to hit the spa before all the fashion. The holidays don’t slow anything down. Team Suarez is currently wrapping up all of our holiday shoots and campaigns. Think hours at our desk doing final edits, hopping from event to event, and even hosting a few shin-digs of our own. I love taking things offline and really connecting to our community…connecting to all of you! I think taking everything online and moving it offline is so important right now for the longevity of what we do. Making those face-to-face connections and just keeping things real. Plus, there happens to be Pre-Fall runway shows happening right now, this weekend, in NYC. I just saw the Alexander Wang Collection 2 show last night, and I’ll be over at Versace’s show this evening. I can always expect the unexpected this time of year. The inspiration just keeps on going! So much sparkle and so little time, but it’s all just super exciting! Even with the holiday rush and go, go, go, it’s that time of year where I hit refresh. I’ve already booked my flights back to Los Angeles for Christmas. This lady needs a really good long vacation. The sun, my car, and a good soundtrack. I can hardly wait. I’m sticking it out in NYC style until then!

SACAI AT PARIS FASHION WEEK

I had just landed in Paris for Paris Fashion Week, and on the very last day. This happens to me sometimes when work in NY keeps me in the city, and then suddenly something comes up in Paris and voila, surprise appearance! I was in town with the dreamy Cartier team for a super special project, but luckily, I flew in just in time for my favorite shows of the season, Sacai. Landing in Paris was like feeling fall again for the very first time. The cold slapped me across the face. It is indeed turtleneck season. I quickly checked into Hotel de Crillon (it’s one of my favorite places to stay in Paris), before slipping into this stunning Sacai look, straight off the runway. How incredible is this knit with ruffle detail, and a waist best? The pleated skirt is also just spectacular. I can always count on Sacai to immediately do a fresh take on the classics. The little details are so interesting and thoughtful. I look closely at each piece, and just go wow. I completed the look with a feathered heel by Lena Erziak and a perfect YSL pop of red bag. In Paris, I happen to only wear the best of the best.
