Doorstep

This always happens. You’ll find me stooped in Soho, blocking someone’s doorway. It’s easy, especially when I’m hidden behind these killer Bon Look grey sunnies! But it’s the weekend and I’m out of NYC for just a few days. Currently blasting music in Dylana’s living room and brewing coffee. When it comes to lazy weekends, I can live in Chaser Brand rock tees, Vanessa Mooney embellished chokers, and this awesome printed Hudson jean. I wear them so much my legs may as well be snakeskin.

Stylemint Giveaway: Stripes for a Rainy Day

(Stylemint striped pullover, J Brand “Nikko” jean, White+Warren parka, Liebeskind bag, Mango blue ring)
The recent wind and rain always make me think twice about whether I should lazily jump into a cab, or huddle to the nearest subway station in between meetings. Evidently, I don’t get surprised anymore with the sudden change of weather. I wake up, peek outside…if it dreary, whatever. If it’s beautiful, well…hallelujah! Whatever the day brings, stripes are my weakness. This one by Stylemint is like my little blanket, perfect for going just about anywhere. For this rainy, chilly day, I mixed it with a pair of skin-tight racing jeans, and a giant olive green parka. Strangely arranged, I was completely content..and more than comfortable.

To give this rainy week a little oomph, I’m giving away one of these Stylemint striped pullovers!

Baby Tangerines

A few film outtakes I JUST discovered from a shoot I did when I was younger with Monster Children magazine. It’s funny looking at these from just one year ago. I think my friend’s are right, my face has changed…as well as my body. But that’s growing up isn’t it? Anyways, this has got me thinking California for the summer. Vintage bikinis, boys that look like girls, tangerines, and super duper short shorts.

Of the 90’s

Last weekend I spent a good few days really getting back into thrifting. I hit up the west village with friends, and even made my way down 23rd street. Sometimes I’m lucky, other times I end up bringing things home only to discover they have holes or are just downright overused. But still, the thrill of the hunt for something one-of-a-kind is my ultimate pleasure. I was smitten with this printed number I found in Williamsburg the moment I laid eyes on it. Not only did it have a long, slim cut, but it was the fact that this exact print was almost identical to a piece I had in my wardrobe as a child, made me buy it. It’s oh so 90’s, the time of my youth, and I can just picture the tween version of myself with a similar choker, but maybe with an extreme high ponytail and a pair of embarrassingly elevated black sneakers (yikes). Anyways, I’ve outgrown the 90’s but revisiting it in some way or another is just too fun!
By the way, can you tell that I’m on a Vanessa Mooney binge? Her handmade, colorful jewels make me giddy every single morning. I think one of my main decisions each day is figuring how I can incorporate at least one of her chokers into an outfit…I’m that obsessed.
