The Traveling Nomad

LONDON to PARIS.
I miss the rock n’roll vibe of London, the bee-hived hair, and the lads, dressed in black trousers, smoking a cigarette down the road. All the cool kids eating Sunday lunch on the beer-ridden streets of Shoreditch in camo jackets, and ripped tapered jeans. I found myself doing the same, sporting all vintage, never brushing my hair, and picking up a pair of round John Lennon sunglasses. That “I don’t give a care” attitude will always remain in my heart hehe. And that was before we made our way to Paris, where the people are posh, yet you could go to Le Baron and drink a beer and slam a tambourine with the locals. Little hats, a short frock, and a navy blue wool coat were all I had for our 2 day stay. By the end of Dylana and I’s big Europe trip, we had ripped stockings and knotted hat hair. Talk about a wicked trip!
SWIMMING IN BARBADOS.
Luckily for work, I get to travel all over the world. BARBADOS is one little island that I still dream of visiting again. Between shooting, I swam in the clear blue waters with giant sea turtles and little fish swimming just by my legs…it was paradise. Island living really is a dream, especially during snowy NYC days! I can’t wait for my next island adventure…and in this polka-dotted one piece 🙂
TO OUR VILLA IN MOROCCO.
A last-minute trip, Morocco was absolutely beautiful. The large dishes of hummus, buttered rice, followed by small boat-rides through Oualidia, was like living in a Woody Allen movie. where everything’s gold and beautiful. And I still think of the our villa, and cannot believe we actually stayed there! My room was like a cabin, with a wooden door and lock key, coal fireplace, and  Moroccan oils left in the bathroom to take home. Just a light leather jacket was all I needed for the days out exploring this colorful country.
AND THERE WAS WOODSTOCK.
HOME SWEET HOME! AMERICA! Woodstock, just a roadtrip away from the city. Where Janis, Jimi, and rock n’ roll legends have passed by, in flared jeans, and spray-painted cars. I loved the home-y vibe of the place. The small cafes, the New York accents, and charming little homes. HIPPIES WELCOME.
I cannot believe how many little corners of the world I’ve come to know. London, Paris, Barbados, Morocco, and so much more. I want to dedicate 2013 to another year of living free, and traveling the world. Here’s to crazy, wild adventuuures!!!!!

Let Jimi Take Over

(Free People “Bali” flared jeans, GUESS denim top, Citizens of Humanity shearling coat, Ax+Apple silver necklace, Vanessa Mooney “stud power” rings, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” JETT MESSENGER bag and VINTAGE BENNI shoe)

There’s just something about flared jeans that I love. I just want to dance, stomp my feet, and take long strides through the city. And finally, a flare long enough for my height! It’s like a hippie Jimi Hendrix lover, has taken over my wardrobe lately. I guess I’ve been rediscovering long lost, rad pieces during the move downtown. The print makes me want to go barefoot during a summer in the desert (hello Coachella) or even pair them with some Western kicks down in Texas. Something you may even find in a Woodstock garage sale, they happen to become the perfect downtown jean, stellar for weekends at home around Thompson Square Park. This time, I’ll be perched on the couch working on some upcoming songs. Somehow these pants are oh, so magical.

IPPOLITA: The Stella Collection

Sneak a peek inside my latest campaign for IPPOLITA jewelry, shot right down here in the Bowery! Featuring their latest pieces in their new Stella collection. I’m a total jewelry girl, whether it be layering a ton of bracelets and bangles on one wrist, or putting a statement ring on the other…I never leave the house without a ton of jewels, no matter where I go. I feel naked without them. I can barely wear gloves anymore with all the things wrapped around my fingers and wrists. For the shoot, I fell in love with the turquoise stones (and with diamonds!) but they were so subtle that I felt I can still just wear them dressed down with a long tie-dyed dress, and wide-brimmed hat. The clinking of the jewels on my wrist may have been the best part of our filming…the bangles are a bit gypsy, but rather, a gypsy with some really luxurious taste in jewelry 🙂

Take a peek inside our film, and follow more into the campaign on Ippolita, and enter to win the Stella Mini Teardrop Necklace here.

Velvet Youth

(C&C California velvet top, SW3 Bespoke Coat, Urban striped dress, Vanessa Mooney necklace, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” JETT JODPHUR boots, Vintage Chanel bag)

If I could have a room in velvet, I really would. In winter, I deck myself in velvet…whether it be a vampy black maxi and low back, or oversize velvety top over a little dress. It’s a big gypsy, a bit rock, and a whole lotta love. I’ve got two of these tops in different colors, they’re just that good! These were snapped around Christmas, back home in LA. Somehow, I don’t know how they got missing, but I’m happy I rediscovered them! We did everything LA natives do while in town…mall-crawl, and drive from Silverlake out to the westside, all while blasting old Zeppelin tunes, before grabbin burgers and sloppily eating in the car with a lap-full of napkins. I spent the whole time under this hat…it’s been left behind in my old bedroom for years. This vintage beauty has now happily made it to my NYC apartment!
