Spring with the JETT MESSENGER

Here’s a little into how we made the bag in the Modern Vice factory! Sometimes the little details on a bag are my favorite….from a tiny piece of hardware, to the lining. With our Modern Vice JETT MESSENGER, we went with a bold, luxurious, red suede lining. It feels so rich, and I love that beautiful contrast. From finalizing our sketch, to perfecting the pattern, to making the first bag in the sample room…everything was done by hand. It’s really the only way to do it when you want to make something so gorgeous, and see it get done right in front of you. I’m currently already dreaming of sporting it this Spring, biking down the Lower East Side, in nothing but a short floral frock, floppy hat, and distressed vintage boot. This bad boy slung over my right shoulder. Talk about perfection.

Say hello to the “REBEL YELL”

And here, we have another “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” exclusive,
 We’ve had this gorgeous Italian leather American Flag leather around, and always, it was in the back of our minds. We wanted to do something with it. A bag, a backpack, something. It wasn’t until my distressed denim jacket was literally falling apart, and I had to take it in to the MV factory for some repair, that we came up with one of our favorite products. First, I ended up having the team patch up existing rips with leather. We then found rolls of our distressed flag leather back in the leather room, and found ourselves taking the perfectly sized flag, and having it cut, and stitched beautifully down it’s entire back. Talk about wicked. Yep, here in the Manhattan MV factory, we can do just about anything, at anytime. I cannot live without an oversize denim jacket, especially come Spring. I’m pretty proud of this denim/leather beauty!

Pale Daze

Once winter rolls around, I do become my palest. With a deep plum lip, I’m super close to becoming a vampire. The only way to brighten these extremely cold, windy days, was with the leopard yellow pullover and mens-y pinstriped pants. In between running around the city, I’ve been loading up on hot blueberry tea, and spending more and more time by the guitar. Yep, I’ve already been back to recording, whipping out my tracks for DKNY Fragrances before March! I can’t wait to have you hear what we’ve got cooking…oh and that sexy moan from the electric guitar.

Run with me

General
Wooo! Here’s to another weekend rolling around the chilly village streets. This time? I’m doing some vintage buying, for our upcoming projects we’re working on in the MV factory. Here, I’m wearing our latest design, the jodphur! This babies have already gone with me to LA, to shoot in San Francisco, and back, all in a matter of two weeks. I never want to take them off. With a lace-y maxi and nubby knit, I can stay out for hours, exploring this city I never get sick of. Already, we have so many new styles (and  a handbag!) launching next week, along with some surprise fashion week kicks in the works! Now I’m just ready for a slow morning filled with banana waffles and espresso to wake me up after a night of a bit too much tequila…yikes. Happy weekend!
