THE LABYRINTH

(Elkin bomber jacket (similar), Chaser Brand top, Free People skirt, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” CHLOE BOOT w/ harness, Gant sunglassesChloĆ© “ethel” handbag)

Just after our early morning MANGO shooting in Spain, we wanted a city escape and hopped in a cab to Parc del’ Labirinit d’ Horta. It was my boyfriend’s idea, and I knew it would be insane…I mean the word, “labyrinth” was in it. Suddenly, I started thinking of David Bowie in that film I would obsessively watch as a child with Dylana. All those weird and unusual things that happened. After falling asleep in our cab, we finally arrived and it was beautiful of course, much like everything in Spain! Brown stone, aged with the sun. It wasn’t until I made my up the stone steps and looked to my left that I freaked out. Just over the ledge was a huge grassy maze, yes, it was THE LABYRINTH. We couldn’t believe it. It was stunning. We eventually walked down to explore, and you wouldn’t believe it…it took us nearly half an hour just figuring out how to get out of the darn thing. We found ourselves running into the same dead-end walls, through the exact same routes, that somehow, looked different every single time. It felt like the walls themselves were actually closing up on us. Everyone who was inside there with us was having a hard time, all sweating beneath the harsh Spanish sunlight. We nearly gave up, standing on a bench in the center, hand on hips, hoping to find a way out. After taking nearly every single route, we found our exit!!! I wanted nothing than to finally rest in the shade by the small pools of water in the park. I wore nothing but my favorite Free People plaid skirt, a torn Iron Maiden tee, and floral Elkin bomber, wrapped around my waist. After a week of working and getting all prim and proper for events and the shooting, I wanted to be grunge, wear what I normally wear, anything I can get down and dirty in. I did end up coming home to some pulls on my skirt and dirt in my shoes. But it was well worth it. Parc del’ Labirinit, I’m happy I met you. You know how to make a girl feel like a queen for just a day.

SAY W.T.F

(Urban Outfitters “Stolen Girlfriends Club” tank top, vintage hat, Free People studded skirt, Rebecca Minkoff backpack, Vanessa Mooney gold cuff, The 2 Bandits turquoise cuff and wing cuff)

Summer in the city means boys at Chrystie Street park, playing basketball and throwing their jerseys in the air…too hot to in anything else. I recently got a new basketball, and it’s only when the night cools down, that I find it bearable to break it out in sweat. I love the sporty vibe…I was that pony-tail, sneaker wearing tomboy as a child, and I have to admit, I love my jerseys. All I wanted was a Bryant LAKERS jersey during those games in the 90s as I sat in my mother’s lap. I found myself heading to an early brunch on a Sunday in this little get-up. My friends were surprised. “Natalie in a jersey?!” Yeah! Studded skirt, black boots, and all! W.T.F.

SONY: XperiaZ Smartphone Underwarter LAUNCH PARTY

It’s here! The Sony Xperia Z smartphone, exclusively at T Mobile, and I have to say, I am beyond excited to try this baby out. I flew back from Paris on Monday, and just in time for last night’s big SONY launch party and concert, out in Soho, in what used to be a gorgeous 5 story loft…so beautiful, and complete with an indoor pool! Yep, it was an underwater adventure, filled with violinists in the pool, and a blue-lit hue throughout the whole venue. The smartphone is one that works UNDERWATER, and we were all in there, throwing the phone in the pool, and yep, it does work in the deep blue sea and you can take absolutely gorgeous underwater snapshots. I’m dying to take this baby out to the ocean this summer when I’m back in California for work next month. It was another gorgeous, hot summer night in the city, and I’m so so so happy to be back. All of my favorite people together in one place again and most of all, PASSION PIT! I love these guys and so I crept right up to the front just to listen. Sleeeeepyhheeead still plays over and over in my head. With Dylana, Kelsea, and the rest of our pals, we had a LONG LONG Tuesday night, and honestly, I’m just dying to open up my phone and try that baby out in the pool! Here’s to a warm welcome back to the States! x

I miss my Spaniards so so much! I’m in Paris, and though I’m currently on a “MERCI” kick and all I see are giant baguettes under people’s arms on this Sunday, I’m still rekindling my love for Barcelona by looking back at the many photos my boyfriend and I shot. Barcelona is a city unlike any other, and I’ve deeply fallen in love with it. Just two years later, and it feels like a whole new place. Every single day, just within walking distance, there are all these little streets and corners to discover. The art, the graffiti, the colors, the beige of the walls. I had the blue dot on my GPS forever guiding me in the right direction. In between working, being on holiday, and trying to find my way around these cities with all that I’ve got, days are much longer than NYC days, and I get to a point where I can no longer bare to look through my suitcase, but rather throw on the first thing in sight! This rock tee (that desperately needs a wash) and this gorgeous little colorful mini, have already traveling the world with me! With such a limited selection in my suitcase, I’ve been trying to just mix and match as much as possible, and hope that I don’t run out of a pair of new knickers. Anyways, so like I said, everywhere I have turned…whether it be Barcelona or Paris, there’s BREAD. Bread with cheese, bread and jamon, bread and croissants. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, its’ completely different from what I normally eat, yet I like discovering what the locals crave. That is, TAPAS, TAPAS, TAPAS! I was on the prowl for some really good food, and ended up at PLA. A gorgeous little restaurant, dark and super hidden in El Gotic, barely even showing up on the map I was clutching so hard. Finally, some chicken, some rice, all food I’m a bit more familiar with. Oh, and a little kitten painted on our windowsill. Barcelona, you really do have it all.
After all of my latest EUROOOO adventures, I can barely hold my head up. Time to re-coup from Bastille Day here in Paris, and pack, pack, pack, as this girl’s gotta get back to takin’ care of business back in NYC! x
