I love reconnecting with my roots with every single trip to Mexico. So far we’ve hit up the eclectic scene and beaches of Tulum along with the incredible food and history we found in Mexico City, where my grandfather is from. For this very much needed girl’s trip, we planned an escape to the stunning property of the St. Regis Punta Mita. It feels extra private, and we felt like we could unplug the moment we walked into our villa. It was exactly what we were looking for! Hidden behind large gates, Punta Mita is like it’s own little world. Punta Mita actually means “gateway to paradise” in Aztec. We were in town to shoot a few summer campaigns, but we still managed to plop down on a lounge chair, hit up the spa, get massages, and do our nightly ritual, soak in the hot tub after dinner. I honestly don’t find anything more relaxing than hearing the sounds of the waves as I crawl into bed each night. I’ve stayed at a few of the St. Regis properties around the world for work, like earlier this year in Rome with the Fendi team! What I love most is how each property stays so true to the local heritage from the architecture to the food. Guacamole please! But honestly, this was a real treat for us after what felt like the longest NYC winter of all time. Resort season is here and I can finally brush up on my Spanish.
