7 FOR ALL MANKIND X WHO WHAT WEAR | The Shorts Story

With every summer comes the classic denim short. Always lived in. Always a little rough around the edges. Always with stories to tell. Like that time we hit the road to Palm Springs and trekked through the windy mountains just to get the shot. No trip to the West Coast is complete without denim. A classic blue pair of denim shorts gives me the freedom to style it anyway I like. With 7 For All Mankind, Dylana and I created our own stories on the road, shot here for Who What Wear

A SOFTER PALETTE

Is this the new color for spring? A soft, dusty rose? I think so. I’m leaning towards it in everything from my clothes to my lipsticks. And just like with any really elegant piece, I dress it down. White denim jacket? Check. Leather mules? Check. Linda Farrow sunglasses? Check. Here I am snapped in Philadelphia after a long day of filming in the city. It was super hot and muggy…the sweat glistening off my face. I could easily sense a super hot summer ahead full of outdoor beer gardens, concerts, and that occasional mosquito bite.

A TOUCH OF HERITAGE

Here are a few outtakes from my Don Julio campaign that I just fell in love with. A campaign that’s been super fun for me because I get to embrace my very different cultures and everything that makes me, well, me and create very different and interesting stories. We’re talking everything filming in Chinatown at a Mexican tequila bar to creating my very own specialty cocktails. With that, I’ve really did some research on everything from incredible new recipes to classic vintage looks from every part of my background: Chinese, Mexican, and Spanish.

HOW TO DO POM POMS AND A LITTLE FRILL

I’m totally a Dr. Martens and oversize sweater sort of girl, but like most women, I naturally gravitate towards frills, especially come spring. I’m talking about exaggerated sleeves. I’m talking about pom pom heels, oh my! Things all women stop and go “OMG THIS IS TOO DARN CUTE.” Here’s how to do the trend right without going overboard in the girly-girl department. I applied these following rules to a recent work trip to Miami at Veuve Clicquot’s Carnval festival.
