FASHION MONTH AHEAD!

// Preen dress (similar), Chanel handbag from Rebag, Karen Walker sunglasses (similar), Emilio Cavallini tights, Pedro Garcia shoes //

New York Fashion is quickly approaching. I’m already buzzing around the city going to fittings for some very exciting front row fun with my favorite designers. I’ll be keeping things low maintenance as usual whether it be backstage or on the red carpet. Shoes that I can actually walk in. Clean, fresh makeup. Oh, but a statement bag for sure. September FW was a blast. I don’t think I took a moment’s breather, but that’s how I like it. This is a flashback to September, where you could find me out on the town in feminine dresses by Preen and a socks/sandal combination. Then again, dressing for the winter is my absolute favorite. This season will be all about statement outerwear, gloves, and fuzzy hats. Who is ready to cozy up in the front row?

BRINGING THE SUNSET INTO FALL

// Ellery dress, Parisa Wang bag, Malone Souliers shoes //

I am bringing the sunset from summer into fall simply with this dress. There have been some amazing sunsets this summer to remember: Punta Mita, Mexico…Half Moon Bay, California…Waiheke Island, New Zealand…Turks & Caicos…and of course, my beloved New York City where rainbows shine through my home on the daily at 5pm. All so different. All so perfect. These dreamy evenings live on through the pastel pinks and orange hues in my wardrobe. Now I can revisit the sweet memory of summer anytime of day, all year round.

MATCHY MATCHY IN RED VALENTINO

REDVALENTINO sweater and scarf // Nanushka coat // Delvaux handbag // Karen Walker sunglasses // And Other Stories pant // Miista boots

I was flipping through some NYFW looks and stumbled up on this one on my desktop, along with so many others that are just screaming to be blogged. This chunky knit and matching scarf is by RED VALENTINO and is currently tucked away until fall comes our way. I am finally back in NYC after weeks of traveling and it feels amazing to be home, unpacked, and having a little moment to breath. I have been shooting nearly everyday, and it feels good to have one weekend to myself. To gym. To catch up on emails. To cook (I am ready to tackle my mom’s famous curry tonight). To simply live in my yoga pants all day. I recently went from Iceland, to the Catskills, to Paris, and LA! Which campaign has been your favorite? All of your excitement in my recent projects really keeps me going. Now that I’m home and settled, I’ve been feeling an extra burst of inspiration now that I can keep my windows open and feel the cool spring breeze coming in.

ALL THE TEXTURES

Coat: A.W.A.K.E. Sweater: Naked Cashmere. Pant: Gucci. Boots: Reike Nen. Bag: YSL. Scarf: G-Star Raw.

I am currently in Los Angeles, so I have certainly shed a few layers though we’ve had more rain than ever. I’ve come back for a few work projects, all while squeezing in loads of family time. This weekend, I’ve spent my mornings scouring estate sales like old times, scoring on some incredible vintage pieces. I’ve spent my nights going through dozens of home videos. It’s amazing how you can fall in love with your childhood self all over again. It’s like a little reminder to embrace the silly kid in you. That freedom and that curiosity. But I have to be back in NYC in just a few more days already and back to the work craziness. This trip has certainly given me a breath of fresh air and a new perspective to thoroughly enjoy every single moment we have in life.

One thing I always look forward to back in NYC is snow! On the East Coast, I wear a ton of plaid and I simply pile it on. It’s all about finding colors that work well together when it comes to mixing loads of textures like pinks and grays and dark blues. I adore these wool pink Gucci pants with a super oversized A.W.A.K.E coat. I even gave my pant a little tuck into my boot. The more slouchy, the better. The more effortless and wacky, the better. It is my childhood self who would love this freedom to layer and layer all of my favorite pieces in one very statement winter look.
