MY MOST STREETSTYLE SNAPPED

I’m still all about the bubblegum and sorbet colors of summer, and bringing them into fall. This may be one of my absolute favorite NYFW looks. A crushed velvet dress, and the most perfect cropped jacket. How insane are these sleeves?! Karen Walker. She’s amazing, I know. I think when it comes to bursts of color in your wardrobe and in a single look, go for different textures, and fun proportions. This is one unexpected combination I threw on one hectic morning. It’s quickly became one of my most streetstyle-snapped looks. I mean, what’s not to love about orange and pink?!

LE RED CARPET

For a night at the annual Harper’s Bazaar BAZAAR ICONS party celebrating rock n’ roll, I went this unforgettable red dress by Cinq a Sept. With a perfect crop top that so elegantly tied at the shoulder, and a billowing skirt wrapped so perfectly around the waist, it felt a lot more like the undone, rock n’ roll version of a ball gown. Exactly what I was going for. And in red…my favorite color. Stepping onto the red carpet, I kind of had to hold my breath. It is certainly one of the most star-studded parties during NYFW and I was lucky enough to attend and spend the night with my loves at Stella Artois. Here’s what a real party at The Plaza feels like.

ALL THAT GLITTERS | NYFW

NYFW was such a whirlwind. It consisted of super early mornings, and really late nights between all of the shows and photoshoots. But let’s not forget the after-parties. I’m talking special performances like Travis Scott and Gucci Mane, lines out the door, and rosé literally pouring out of the water fountains. Only in NYC, I guess! It feels amazing to finally wake up from a proper night’s sleep. But now, it’s time to press REWIND and sashay through through the best of the week…like this designer look, all from Saks. They call it #SaksRunway. A Balenciaga silver knit, stunning Givenchy pants, Proenza Schouler handbag, and the most wild Gucci platform shoes. VA-VA-VOOM. You know I’m a huge fan of anything that glitters and sparkles. I took this look to my Saks and WWD Dimension panel at the Samsung lounge, where we spoke about how fashion and technology meet, and of course, went over all of the hottest trends out there at the moment, including sparkle and shine. We had a packed house in the crowd, but I saw a few familiar faces in the distance, making all the nerves go away. The last thing I wanted to do was trip in front of everyone with my 4 inch heels…

PHEW! A LOOK THAT WON’T BREAK THE BANK

nyfw-style-code-live-natalie-lim-suarez-10

Here it one more look from NYFW and can you believe the whole look is under $250? It was part of my collaboration with Amazon’s Style Code Live, and it was so good, I had to share it on the blog. I forget sometimes how heels make me feel. I used to only wear heels to castings (oh, the dread!) before slipping them off the moment I left the building to toss them in my bag. Towering over everyone used to scare me. I was long, lanky, and my confidence only showed what I was walking the runway, playing a different character. I guess I wasn’t so bad for a 15 year old. Now I have the confidence as a 5’10” woman to wear heels anytime I want. Sure I’m towering over just about every 6 foot guy in the city, but it still feels empowering. Oh, and of course your legs will look amazing. Luckily, the block heel trend doesn’t kill my feet at all. I actually prefer little dresses and stockings with the perfect block heel. I kept the rest of my look and the color palette sweet and neutral. A tiny, cotton shift dress and faux leopard coat. The beret and sheer fishnets tie it all together. Yep, and it’s all super affordable and won’t break the bank. Pieces to layer and wear over and over again. Now isn’t that a breath of fresh air?
