AT HOME WITH ELLE DECOR

“What I love most about my Dumbo, Brooklyn, loft is the spacious chef’s kitchen. It’s the center of my home and perfect for entertaining. I love how clean and bright the design is, but with a play on colors like a soft blue island paired with bright red barstools.”

I’m having a total pinch me moment. My feature on my home for ELLE Decor! I’m sharing a few more outtakes from our shoot to give you a little peek into my space. You’ll find little pops of color like red and baby blue, as well as a mix of old and new that gives me a sense of balance when I’m home. I like to stick true to it’s lofty, industrial design with a really cozy, modern feel. My home feels lived in but at the same time feel like a breath of fresh air for me. As my style evolves, so does my home. I’m always finding ways to update it, like this new couch (mine is from Interior Define) or a new rug. My home is an endless project that I never want to end đŸ™‚

“I love a real statement piece like a dining table that brings people together. My dining table and chairs have an elegant design, with a minimalistic approach. This set is so heavy and amazing that it will be with me for a long time. The soft gray leather dining chairs were also custom-made.”

“My loft is industrial-chic, with a modern, elegant touch. I had the pipes painted red for a pop of color against all the wood and concrete accents. It’s a space that feels lived-in with a super open-concept layout. It feels eclectic with all of the unique custom chairs and large L-shaped sofa by Interior Define. The fur statement chair is by Stewart-Schafer and the table is from High Fashion Home.

“My home feels airy and bright, thanks to the custom glass sliding doors leading to the bedroom. The space has views of the Empire State Building and Williamsburg Bridge. It feels like a real home with that classic loft vibe in the most charming area of New York City. The vibrant pink velvet chair gives this very minimal and zen space a playful feel.”

DINNER PARTY READY WTIH INTERIOR DEFINE | MY LA HOME STYLE

Dining chairs: Interior Define

Dress: PH5

In Los Angeles, I like home to feel really clean and modern. But I wanted a pop of color with a little vintage-inspired touch. Meet my new custom Interior Define dining chairs. They are very similar to the ones I have in my NYC loft, but with a slightly different design and in the most amazing shade. I love my Interior Define chairs in NYC so much that I also got them for Los Angeles! I customized the Dylan dining chair with luxurious blush velvet and gorgeous matte brass legs. When I sit in them, I go “ahhh.” They are just so incredibly comfortable and well made. For small dinner parties at home, they are both elegant and fun. Blush really seems to go with everything like a large granite dining table and a little shearling thrown over for a chic personal touch. The dining area really is the heart of the home. I like how it feels so statement now with a perfect pop of pink. On the West Coast, I live for opening up the balcony doors, letting the sun shine in, and having an early home cooked meal at sunset with friends and family.  These chairs just add even more to that easy, breezy state of mind that I’m in whenever I am home in Los Angeles.

PREPARING FOR GUESTS IN MY NYC LOFT | INTERIOR DEFINE

Sectional sofa: Interior Define. Leather dining chairs: Interior Define. Dress: Maggie Marilyn.

As winter comes along, I’m making my Dumbo, Brooklyn loft feel a lot more intimate, inviting, and cozy…and not just for me, but for all of the people in my life when they come to visit. That always starts with upgrading my living and dining room interiors and adding a lot more seating space so all of my guests feel like my home is theirs as well. I discovered Interior Define on a recent trip to Chicago, where I walked by their gorgeous boutique during a day of shopping. I went inside and fell in love with their clean aesthetic, with a close attention to details and quality. I came back to NYC and customized my selects on their online shop to perfectly work in my home.

Neutrals for me are a must. My home is a mix of soft blues, grays, concrete, wood, and little pops of red. I have been traveling so much this year. When I am home in NYC, I cherish every single moment I get to enjoy here. I love a shabby chic aesthetic that feels lived in and loved, but with a relaxing and elegant color approach. I love inviting friends over to cook a hearty breakfast, or simple circle around my living room space with a bottle of wine. A sectional sofa for me is a must. I had all this extra floor space, and just wanted a much larger couch that made for really stretching out on. This piece gives me that ahhh moment when I come home after a long work trip. The Ms. Chesterfield Sectional Sofa was perfect. I adore the old-fashioned men’s club design with really elegant tufting. It’s my go-to style in any home. I customized it in the fabric, Seed, which is a really amazing cross weave that adds a lot of dimension and warmth.

As for dining area, I have this really luxurious concrete and wood table, but I needed the perfect chairs to match. The Audrey leather dining chairs by Interior Define were just the right fit, with a super luxurious, sleek and modern design to match. You just sit in them and never want to get up. I chose the “New City” gray color with Matte Brass legs. You can choose between a few gorgeous and warm shades of leather with either Matte Black or Chrome legs. Each combination is absolutely divine. These chairs are just so yummy and so pretty to look at. I can’t wait to finally have my guests over and put them to good use.

INSIDE MY NYC LOFT: ARTICLE MID-CENTURY FURNITURE

My NYC loft has been through a lot of small changes! It’s almost 3 years since I’ve bought my first home and it still feels brand new because I’m constantly making it feel more like home whether it be changing a rug or putting up a new work of art. I finally feel a real sense of coziness the moment I walk in. It’s warm and fully lived in. It doesn’t really feel like you’re in the heart of NYC. The foyer is what I wanted to make the most inviting. I’m a huge fan of Article‘s mid-century furniture and their twist on the classics, like this amazing Geome Sideboard and now it’s the first thing guests see when they walk into my front door. I fell in love with it’s cubic cut pieces of solid oak. It’s unique and special. In NYC, we’re all about making the most of our space, and this sideboard is so roomy for storage all while keeping my space clean, minimal, and super chic. When I think of warmth, I think of wood. Wood works so well against my industrial and lofty red pipes and open windows. I also had an empty wall that I thought could work so well for yes, more storage. I took this empty, narrow wall and placed the Culla Dresser right there. It was hard finding the perfect fit…I needed something slim but tall. Article’s Culla Dresser fit absolutely perfectly. It’s a good place to use for extra blankets and home necessities. Thanks to Article, there’s a place for everything in my space.
