THE METALLIC SKIRT

natalie-suarez-1

With fall just around the corner, I’m already taking out my fall pieces. Flannel shirt? Check. Metallic skirt? Check. Yet I’m still mixing in my summer favorites. The off-the-shoulder tops and platform sandals. I love that eclectic style that comes with the in-between stage of seasons. Throwing whatever you’ve got on. A little grunge. A little girly. Completely random proportions that seem to work when you just wing it. Fashion month is ahead, and I’m ready.

Oh, and thank you Mom for the killer circle handbag.

#NMInsider

My Neiman Marcus #NMInsider event in Atlanta was a total blast. I had an incredible time meeting everyone who stopped by! My NMInsider curated boutique was all about the Folklorica trend. Bohemian, yet romantic. Florals, mixed prints, wide-leg denim pants. Furrry knits, metallic dusters, oversize hats. My style is very eclectic, so it was the perfect collaboration. For the event, I wore this killer 10 Crosby by Derek Lam dress.

ISLAND CASITA

true-religion-jicaro-2

From San Juan Del Sur, we boated out to the stunning Jicaro ecolodge, on it’s own private island off the coast of Granada. We were immediately greeted by iced lime tea, and the rush of fresh air surrounded by nothing but green lush. It felt nice to be so remote. With only about 5 other people on the island, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. Just the occassional sound of a boat passing by. Our casita was extra romantic. Two stories, super minimal, and all made of wood. I spent most of the afternoon dipping into the pool, before slipping on a perfect pair of True Religion jeans, and lying on our hammock. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks below like a lullaby. I had no intention of going back to main land.

TO TENNESSEE

birmingham-3.j,pg

I bought this amazing vintage Pakistani dress from the Salvation Army in Birmingham, Alabama last month. For a mere $3 bucks I must say! I love it’s mirrored detailing and beautiful floral embroidery. Amongst the old boring dresses, this red stunner stook out like a sore thumb. I immediately threw it into my shopping cart. We packed our plastic bags filled with our thrifted finds into the trunk before our next destination. TENNESSEE. At this time, I was reading Beautiful Ruins, one of my now favorite books, in preps for my upcoming trip to Italy. Windows down, and the hair blowing my face. It was hard to focus on the pages of my book in a car full of excited girls, dancing to the music blaring in our car. We had just crossed the Tennessee border and spotted this adorable field of grass and flowers on the side of highway. The perfect reason to stop and take a little breather. With a cold bottle of Pop, we were ready for our next adventure in Nashville. I really don’t want summer to end.
