Lately, I’ve been listening to a ton of Janis Joplin. “Cry Baby” and her husky voice filling my whole apartment. I sing along, my voice getting more raspy the louder I get and the more I find myself rocking out in the bathroom. Jimi Hendrix’s “HEY JOE” another I turn on full blast once I come home (sorry neighbors!) What I do for electric guitar, that whole San Francisco gang who has inspired me since birth. The colors of their time are forever twisting in my mind. The purples, the pinks, washed out, and swirling with oranges and blacks. Only Keith Richards and I own this hat…can you believe it was actually made for my boyfriend as his summer hat?! Of course, I threw it on, and knew it had to be mine. I mean, it IS purple, floppy, and FOR A GIRL. Thank you Orlando! This dress also splashed in the most beautiful shades and designed by my rad babes in Vencie Beach at C&C California. Our campaign we shot in LA for Fall, will be out soon! I cannot wait to see more from my Cali girls! Anyways, Dylana shot me here on my East Village roof…the glowing purples and pinks dancing in the sun…like heaven on Earth.

Our Paris balcony was too heavenly for words. Where I’d drink my coffee in the morning in my PJs, yet still the absolute best place to watch the fireworks on Bastille Day. Each spark lighting up Rue de Tremoille at night like a street lamp. After days of traveling, all I could think of wearing was the softest tee I packed, and extra flared flares. Good enough to go out late into the night, and crash into bed with early the next morning. BON VOYAGE, so they’d say on Air France! I loved our flight…leaning on Jordan and honestly not really wanting our European adventures to end. Watching countless movies the whole 8 hours home. But I’m back in NY, and I’m quite happy to be back. There hasn’t yet been a dull moment…everyone’s constantly on the move, never really stopping, there’s always more and more to see and do! It seems every designer I know or who have worked with is in town for these two weeks…dinners start and end later and later, filled with laughter and wine…yet in the back of my mind, I know I should be going to bed. Anyways, I’ve gone from city to city to city, and I think one relaxing Sunday out by the beach is calling my name! Paris, I do still miss you…and I love how I always feel like I’m looking through rose-tinted sunglasses…especially in these photos…that pink hue I always talk about, taking over the frame. I’ve got many more little stories to tell. Au Revoir!

Here I am, at home in NYC, shot with my boyfriend and best mate, Jordan, on a sleepy Saturday morning. Emma came over for an early photoshoot, her hands full of coffee and croissants. She is the cutest and I’m so happy we finally, after weeks of delay, were able to shoot! I met her a while ago at the Modern Vice factory..and I knew right away, “this girl is rad!” Who knew that months later we’d be shooting together. I wasn’t sure what to wear, and I always find myself on a weekend too lazy to look through my overflowing closet…dresses here, jeans there…all so overwhelming. The photographer wanted nothing but to simply shoot Jordan and I in bed. Neutrals and whites, perfectly lighting up the frame from the light coming in from the window. My T-Pee lamp forever a glow in the corner. Jordan stayed in a white tee, as I chose to be layered up in all my comfy favorites. A Free People floral bustier and skirt, vintage kimono, and printed Stance socks. We’re cuddlers, what did you expect? Hah! Emma had us rolling around in the sheets, before she got the perfect shot…with me lying on his back…tattoos and all! I love these little snapshots. Raw, and a bit mysterious. Lovers and friends. Here’s just a peek into my world.

Everywhere you go in Paris, all I can hear are the clicking of cappuccino glasses. Every street corner, every sidewalk. The little clouds of cigarette smoking lightly filling the air around me. I love facing the streets to have a meal, just to people watch. The women, so chic in their own simple way. This day, we had just arrived from Barcelona on an extremely early flight. I spent my morning falling in and out of sleep until we finally arrived at the gorgeous Hotel Le Tremoille…a boutique beauty set in the Golden Triangle.  The sophisticated white walls, with perfect engraved crown moulding, and a beautiful twin set of French doors. It was a magical, and so classically FRENCH abode. I could have stayed in our suite there the entire time. First thing I wanted to do?! Take one big giant bubble bath! This girl hasn’t had much rest lately…since 4th of July until now, and so I found myself sinking my head into a hot tub before I could even hold my head up. I didn’t want to run around the city like a zombie! It was hard for me to sleep though, I wanted to just go out and explore, like I always do whenever I’m in Paris. Our classic and beautiful environment inspired me to just throw on some simple stripes (my favorite in Pareee!!) and a velvet black overalls for a day out by Canal St. Martin. So so simple and easy. I found my boyfriend completely passed out on a bench, as I sunbathed on the floor by the canal, constantly being warned not to sit so close to the edge. Of course, this was just the beginning of our Parisian adventures, and I kept my camera close at hand. The city to me always has a pink hue. Just the view from our balcony…as the sun goes down late at 9pm, that pinkish/beige color comes back once the sun fades away. A place that constantly takes your breath away. It really is a romantic place, and all I want to do is take photos. Oh, and I’ll get to the food later. Can you say, BAGUETTE?!
