Happy Easter!

(American Apparel dress, Hallelu crop top, Stylestalker blazer, Nine West shoes)

Happy Easter everyone! I’m about to embark on a wild adventure to VEGAS for a short getaway. Okay, maybe not so wild, but I’m sure there will be lots of fun in the desert along with massive amounts of time spent in the jacuzzi. I’ve been feeling so lethargic lately. I now understand why my daydreams always involve hot jacuzzis. My body is like WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED AND WHY CAN’T I FUNCTION WITHOUT CAFFEINE?! I’ve been so busy this past week. Being on the go constantly can be tiring. But I’ll admit, I had so much fun through it all. So many changes going on in my life as well, all happening at once. Exciting changes of course! But I look forward to just sitting back and doing whatever I want for the next few days. Same goes for my style. I’m down to just pack a few items for this trip and barely there makeup. My skin can use some rest. Here I’m wearing a new spin on the maxi dress: fitted and mid-calf. To keep things comfortable, I layered a crop top over it along with a boyish tuxedo blazer and stilts of wedges. There’s nothing wrong with towering over your friends!

Have a fantastic, relaxing Sunday. Many cool things coming out next week that I’m dying to share with you. You know I’ll keep you posted!

Rustic Getaway

I am in love with this editorial from Vogue Paris April ’11! It inspires me to go on some crazy retreat in the middle of nowhere with nothing but grungy layers in off whites and rust colored shades. A head of salty ombre hair and a tan little butt isn’t bad either! This editorial is too perfect. Rarely do I stumble upon one I really love.

It’s got me thinking: I need a vacation! I hope everyone’s Easter weekend is going great so far. Today is my final day to knock out the last 3 short videos for Volcom (yes, working on a Saturday waa) then I really want to take a drive to through the desert tomorrow. We’re thinking VEGAS. Can’t wait for my own little getaway!

Overlooking the Santa Monica Canyons: SPECIAL GIVEAWAY!

Everything grows better in California…

Up to GIVE AWAY: this great pair of Big Star cargo jeans!

(Big Star jeans, Herff Christensan tank, Hallelu cardigan, Vintage hat, Velvetine bag, Free People sunglasses/accessories)
I took a long hike up the side of the road overlooking the breathtaking beautiful Santa Monica Canyon. It was such a gorgeous day: clouds with a crisp, cool breeze. Perfect escape from the valley area which was hot as an oven that day. I decided not to bring my huge Canon and instead went with my mini Sony “Bloggie” camera for the hike. My shoulder really needed a rest! Here I am wearing one of my favorite simple spring looks: a huge vintage hat and a bright printed cardigan over a great pair of cargo skinny jeans. I’m pretty obsessed with these Big Star jeans at the moment. They are soft as suede and have the skinniest ankle. I’m excited to shoot with Big Star early next month! But for now, it’s GIVEAWAY TIME! woooohoooo!

Starting today, I am GIVING AWAY this same style of Big Star jeans to ONE LUCKY READER!!

Simply:

1. Comment below with you email address

2. Like me on Facebook!

3. Like Big Star on Facebook!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! I know you will love this jean! This contest will run until Sunday, April 24th!

Color to the Alley

(Volcom hat and pants, H&M sweater, MANGO black ring, Hallelu gold ring, H&M x Hasbeens shoes, One Language tote bag)

During my visit to the Volcom headquarters, I went on a little shopping spree. Okay, a big shopping spree! I picked up these amazing neon blue pants and even scored this little black hat from the men’s department. I also picked up a few gifts for my friends and family, as well as grabbing a few more staple pieces for my own wardrobe hehe! I’m currently getting things together for the Volcom denim video series that will launch on Volcomunity.com. I cannot wait to begin shooting this week! It’s going to be so amazeballs! I spent the rest of my day nearby to the offices, on the adorable streets of Newport Beach. Clouds were hovering overhead, creating a beautiful soft light for photos. The weather has been so drabby and gloomy, but I have to admit that my bright pants did put on a show: I made a dude with a ponytail nearly ride his bike into a pole as he commented on how much he liked them. Bright pants: DANGER. Maybe I”ll wear this outfit out more often 😉
