Inside VOLCOMUNITY

Wearing Volcom Matchstick pants. See more photos of this look HERE!

I’m beyond excited to share some of my recent VOLCOMUNITY work with you! As Volcom’s model and ambassador, I get to work on so many creative projects. It’s been such a dream come true. There are already a lot of cool things in the works for next year that I cannot wait to fill you in on! But for now, summer is flying by and before we know it, it’ll be Fall! Either you’ll be hitting the books or getting back to work! For the Fall ’11 collection, I worked with the amazing director Car Nazzal on a series of videos, one for each day of the week. Styled by none other than my wonderful sister, Dylana Suarez, I had the best time on set. Below I’ve posted Sunday’s video which is shows bits and pieces from every day of the week. Be sure to check them all out: MONDAY I’m hitting the books, doodling like crazy when I should be studying. TUESDAY was spent getting caught being a total mall rat with my amazing sister Dylana. WEDNESDAY involved some sexy time frolicking on the beach. THURSDAYs are normally spent in a coffee shop, typing away. FRIDAYs get a little crazy. SATURDAYs are totally relaxing and whimsical, daydreaming in a park. Last but certainly not least…SUNDAYFUNDAY, a time to recap and look back at at a week of awesome adventures. The Fall collection is very much inspired by rock n’ roll. Classic with a tough edge. So perfect. My favorite piece? The denim/leather skinny jeans! I had the best time letting loose and shooting these candid videos!

East River Edge

(Denise Focil by Aplinestars top, Vintage Levi’s jacket, Forever 21 shorts, Vanessa Mooney jewelry, Sienna Ray bag, Estée Lauder‘s “Hot Cinnamon” eyeshadow and “Red Velvet” lipstick)

The Brooklyn Bridge park is one of my favorite places to relax. I love getting to sit right on the rocks, so close to the water that my shoes nearly get wet. It’s just so cinematic that I cannot stop looking over to the other side. The views of Manhattan are so spectacular from here, day or night, even with all the clouds that have been hanging over the city these days. Luckily, the city was much cooler this weekend making it somewhat okay to bring along my vintage denim jacket. Worn with a super cool backless lace top and rust colored shorts, it worked. For once, LAYERING and LONG SLEEVES? Okay, maybe not entirely, but it worked just this once! And yet again, I’m sporting my favorite summer accessory, RED LIPS. This time, I’ve been wearing Estée Lauder’s Red Velvet lipstick, which literally feels velvety smooth when I put it on and most importantly STAYS ON. I’m so obsessed and recommending it to all of my friends. Even during an entire day out on the town, surviving the occasional downpour of rain mixed with heat, these eyeshadows and lipsticks never wear off. I think my life is saved hehe! Okay and just so you know, the scent of the city mixed with rain is something I’ve never really experienced until now…it’s well, interesting, reminds me of a wet dog, and OH OH lucky lucky me, I seem to always forget my umbrella before stepping out and so ended my day running home in the rain, SOAKING. But I have to admit, it felt so liberating and was actually super fun to run from the water, home, with a herd of umbrella-less people screaming at the top of our lungs. Totally priceless.

Getting Pampered at ARROJO Hair NYC

So I pretty much had the best experience at ARROJO hair salon in the West Village here in New York. I was in desperate need of a trim, layers, something. My hair was feeling limp and had grown to almost one length throughout. Luckily, I heard of ARROJO from my friends over at Rebecca Minkoff, and so booked an appointment. Instantly, I fell in love with the place. Everything from the wash (which was more like a head massage) to the final styling was so relaxing. My stylist, Emily Carroll, who I totally recommend to anyone in the city who needs a cut/color, gave me long layers and then styled my hair into loose, whimsical waves. The waves looked super natural, just my style! My hair feels super soft and lightweight now. Here are the products I just had to take home: the Thermal Hair Protector, Hair Repair Masque, and the Styling Whip! The stuff is GENIUS and pretty much saved my hair’s life! After my session, the ARROJO photographer snapped my portrait on the streets of NYC. What’s really cool is the salon actually displays photos of real people who have an influence in fashion, on the walls. It feels amazing to get to be one of them. I cannot wait to see what my portrait looks like on the wall next month! (Photography by David Ducane)

What’s super exciting is: Arrojo Hair has teamed up with Rebecca Minkoff, giving you a chance to be one of the 100 lucky winners to attend the Rebecca Minkoff event with me, meet Rebecca Minkoff, receive a great goodie bag, enjoy some signature cocktails and receive a Fall hair trend consultation from Arrojo Studio stylists. $200 Raven Denim GIVEAWAY!

The weekend is just around the corner and so I thought I’d host a very special giveaway with one of my favorite LA based denim brands, Raven Denim! As you know, I’m addicted to their Remy Jean in Aztec (as seen on me here in Central Park). The denim is super soft and doesn’t stretch out at all! I know the different colored denim will work well into fall. I’m excited for one of you to get to receive a pair as well and take them on a test drive! You’ll quickly fall in love with this label.
