ALL TIED UP

(Preston & Olivia hat, Juicy Couture dress, Motel Rock trench coat, Chloe handbag, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” STUDDED CHLOE boot)
This was a long lost look shot during NYFW, and somehow, I don’t really know how I missed it! Also, one of my favorites. I’d just come back from working in Seattle, and pulled out the first thing I could find…still jetlagged, and so not ready for a full week of shows. My hair, still not even fully brushed. Nothing really beats a washed blue trench, and soft-to-the-touch beige hat paired with the perfect LBD! With it’s loosely tied neckline and super-stretch, it’s got that 90’s vibe. So simple of a look, only complete with a pumpkin RED lip (can you believe it’s nearly Thanksgiving?!) and the perfect black boot! YEP, our STUDDED CHLOE boot is BACK with a bang! The wrap-around hardware just the icing on the cake!

Though it’s Veteran’s Day, both my boyfriend and I are still back to work…hoping to take the day slooooow. My eyes, barely able to open. I’ll be squeezing in time to throw my things in a suitcase taking off for my early flight to LA tomorrow. I’m honestly so, so excited to work in California this week! Don’t think I’ll be needing my heavy coat this time around…

BIRKIN BIT

(Bardot jacket, TOPMAN tee, James Jeans hi-rise jeans, Cleobella handbag, H&M cap, Soludos lace-up sneakers)

The striped tee was stolen from my boyfriend, and the cap, shared with my sister. Super simple days where all you want is that slept-in striped tee, a good pair of jeans, and barely there make-up. The Birkin bit of my style. Best for days in Paris…climbing up the steps to Montmarte, one of my favorite places on Earth, overlooking a cloudy sky. Sounds of the harp forcing me to stay. Over the summer, I came back from Paris feeling refreshed…realizing I could live out of suitcase of basic little mini dresses, one pair of jeans, and a few tee shirts. Finding joy in the tiniest of things…the buzz from our rosé to the salty buttered bread on our table! Currently dreaming up my next escape minus the jet-lag. Here I’m snapped up in Brooklyn just over a month ago, visiting Dylana’s abode, still inspired by a summer in France. When the train stopped working, and we had to walk our way home. A light lace-up sneaker the only way to go.

A PINK BIRTHDAY CAKE

(Gypsy Junkies velvet jacket, Vintage coat, Joes Jeans pleated blouse, HUDSON JEANS patchwork jeans, Isly Handbags CLUTCH, Ax + Apple necklaces, Wildfox sunglasses, Sam Edelman boots, Worth & Worth hat)
Vintage coats have been my obsession since the beginning of time. In LA, I scoured estate sales early in the morning to find the perfect ones. My French coat collection comes from all colors of the rainbow….in red, nude, houndstooth, green, black, any color…you name it. But I’ve never had that perfect PINK PINK PINK coat. Once I realized, “I don’t need to shop ever again,” (my closet is literally overflowing) I was dragged to Brooklyn’s Fox & Fawn in Greenpoint. There, I found this beauty sitting on a rack of dusty dresses. The color got me right then. Ther perfect bold pink and warm enough to keep me cuddled and in a bright mood all through the gruesome winter. This day was my birthday, November 3rd, and I wanted to be OVER THE TOP. Dressed like a happy birthday cake with the icing on top. A velvet jacket, rock n’ roll button-down, a colorful houndstooth clutch, the best patchwork jeans I’ve ever laid eyes on. I had the best birthday weekend. I now have an apartment so full of fresh flowers that I sneeze the moment I walk in. Leftover hazelnut cake, and balloons to remember it all by! Here’s to another killer year….each getting better than the last.

HOLD ME TIGHT

With winter coming along, I already find myself buying Christmas candles and blasting The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Slow dancing in my living room, into the night. My whole apartment already smelling of my new favorite scent. Hot Buttered Rum. There’s nothing quite so warm and inviting. And my style’s getting simpler. I just need a super good high waisted black skinny jean, countless cacoon coats, and furry scarves, to keep bundled in the NYC chill. As for the little things in life, I’m quickly getting back into earrings and decorating my body and chest in delicate but ornate, hippie jewelry, silver jewels ingraved with eyes and shark’s tooth…and picking up the ol’ Martin that I somehow keep staring at in the corner by my couch. Oh, Francoise Hardy…how I wish to again go back on the stage and sing…laughing, crying, and having a ball. I miss performing and laying it all out there…as loud as I can. Someday soon. Here are some images taken from my Pinterest…a reason to inspire.
