Heaven in a Bottle

Beauty Bite

Beauty Bite by natalieoffduty

(Kiehl’s cleanser, Clarins Double Serum, Kinerase day moisturizer, Estee Lauder eye cream, DKNY pureVanilla perfume, Too Faced liner, Nars lipstick, MAKE Color pallette (where I get the orange lip!) Estee Lauder nail color, Kusmi Tea)

My beauty routine remains simple. Everything fits in my carry-on luggage, and each is like heaven in a bottle. I don’t overdo anything on my skin…just a great cleanser, a serum, maybe even an illuminator, before a creamy two-in-one sunscreen/moisturizer. I’ll admit, I love the fancy stuff. The spritzers, the exfoliators, but rarely do I go crazy! My skin’s happier when it’s left untouched. All I use for a night out is a bold lip color and swipe of black liner on my top lids. I use the orange in that MAKE Color pallette for that bold lip I’ve been doing a lot recently. It’s a subtle, beautiful shade. My nail colors change for me each season, but I’ve always stayed true to Estee Lauder. Dark shades rule my world, but the pastels of Spring are lurring me in. But above all, everything is better when I’m eating well!! When I travel, I’m all the crazy snacks, but now I live dangerously close to a Whole Foods so I’ve got unlimited fruits, granola, and bags of tea. Come over and we can play!

SXSW: The GUESS Takeover!

(GUESS tank, Free People dress, Muubaa leather jacket, Supertrash hat, Vanessa Mooney necklace, Giles + Brother cuffs, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” JETT Messenger and vintage JETT boots)
All I can say was SXSW in Austin, Texas, was INSANITY! My GUESS takeover during the festival was unlike anything I’ve ever done. The people we met, the fashion along the streets, close encounters with all my favorite artists. Everyone was so free, and you know what, all after one thing, THE MUSIC. I had just shot their GUESS festival looks back here in NYC and grabbed a few pieces for the road, as I took over all GUESS channels, instagraming away, and jumping from gig to gig. They’ve always had that rad pin-up, sexy vibe. I’ve been following their campaign for years!! To work with them on their festival collection was just a perfect match. I packed loads of denim, light knits, and of course, a little pile of my top rock tees. I had a little bit of an itinerary of shows, line-ups scribbled in my notebook, but once I got there, I ran into so many shows along the way! Everything from a little psych-rock at the back of Hotel Vegas on East 6th, to jamming to incredible rock girl bands at The Gypsy Lounge, to a late-night rap gig up at Mohawk Indoors. I think our latest night ended at around 5am! Everywhere we turned, there was music. Just walking the down the streets there are banjos, punks, and hippies. Real ones. And nobody really took fashion seriously, it’s really just all about the music…everyone trying to see their top favorite gigs. Kelsea was my partner in crime during our trip and we left smiling, as our entire trip was just so inspiring and a breath of fresh air. I’ve never seen anything like SXSW, it felt like we were in an old 60’s film!! In the hot Austin sun, I sported a hat every single day, a mess of a head of hair, and of course a tank or tee. You have NO idea how much I missed just wearing a tee. Our NYC winter has been torturous and so being in Austin, in summer clothing, was absolutely freeing. My boots are now lying in my apartment, completely worn in and covered in dust, and my woven cowboy hat is slightly tipped to one side, showing just the right amount of wear. Texas brought me back to that Western style, and I cannot wait to get back into it this summer. I’ve loads more to share, everything from my GUESS festival shoot, to the event, along with my new favorite tunes!
For now, you can take a little peek into my GUESS takeover on my Instagram and on GUESS!

Let’s Hear it SXSW!

And now for a teeny tiny peek into my SXSW adventures here in Austin, Texas!! I have to admit, this city is incredibly rad. It’s like another version of Brooklyn. Some say it’s better, but I guess I’d just say it’s different, and I love it…a whole lot! There are a hell of a lot more taco trucks (I mean, we are only a few hours from Mexico!), more hipsters than you’d find on Bedford, and just as much incredibly good music. I can’t even count how many amazing bands we’ve seen so far. Unlike any other music festival, here is where I can actually discover brand new bands. I love walking up to the stage, having no idea what to expect, and leave completely mind-blown, telling all my friends “they are my favorite band!” like a crazy fan girl. Lately, I’ve been lathering sunscreen before heading out early for day shows, in nothing but little denim cut-offs, maxi dresses, layered with rock n’ roll muscle tees. Many of which are probably here on MyHabit.com (and definitely for some killer prices!) It’s just another Amazon site that I can spend hours browsing for specific pieces I need for my travels. My festival looks are literally throw on and go. I do this thing where I kind of throw in my suitcase tons of things that sort of flow. Tomorrow is my last day, and there are still so many events and shows to rock out to. I don’t think I’ve partied this hard in a long time! Gigs may be my favorite thing in the entire world! You know the show’s good when you’re screaming so loud that by the end, you sort of can’t hear yourself. Probably not incredibly healthy, but it’s only for a few days right?! You only live once, and it’s FESTIVAL SEASON. I’m going all out.
Stay tuned on Instagram (natalieoffduty) as I share some of my new favorite bands and artists who’ve played in this crazy cool city called AUSTIN. I still have so many more images to show you.

Light as a Feather

(10 Crosby Derek Lam via Amazon Fashion dress, Muubaa leather jacket, Vintage hat, Saint Claude necklace, Giles + Brother cuffs, Ax + Apple rings, The Two Bandits rings)
Though I’m normally super low key, I live for the days I can wear a long, beautiful dress. I mean, I am currently living the grunge life in Austin, Texas for this week’s SXSW music festival. But I LOVE LOVE, always need a little something that’s just so gorgeous and makes me feel like that super girl…a piece that blows in the wind. This 10 Crosby Derek Lam via Amazon Fashion beauty is too perfect. A pale pink, it’s peplum little waist, and bare shoulders make it so me. It’s a subtle sexy that I love. Mixed with a bit harder jewels taken from my overflowing drawer (we’re talking longhorns and sharkstooth), I was good to go. Spring soirees, take me to you! Right now, I’m currently resting in bed in our Austin hotel, having a late start, as really nothing happens around this festival till around midnight! The streets become flooded with people, our hotel has a constant flow of rocker boys in line to check-in, the weather is hot, and I honestly can’t wait to step outside outside, grab a taco, and just curl up on a bench in the sun. Rock tees and denim are all I can work with this week here during this crazy festival…hopping from gig to gig late in the night! Still dreaming of the next time I can once again sport a piece as beautiful as this one.
