Gimme Shelter

Sundays with my Guitar

Everything I love all in one simple Vogue Paris editorial. I’m swooning. The guitars, the high waisted jeans, the blunt bangs, and thick stripes. How can something so match my style! Taking this as inspiration for my in studio shoot today for our latest Modern Vice boot styles…including one of my personal favorites, the JETT JODPHUR. It’s boyish, but beautiful in it’s own way. Rock n’ roll.

Peeking Underneath

(Nifty Thrifty coat, Boyfriend’s sweater, Lauren Moffatt yellow sweater, James Jeans, Vintage Shoe Co. “Josie” shoeline.com brogues)
A deep yellow and maroon may always remain my favorite fall combo. I was literally walking out the door when I realized it was so cold I needed my boyfriend’s maroon sweater to go over what I was wearing. Everyone that day was picking at my little yellow and striped collar like “what’s that underneath?” Yep, it’s probably the cutest little Lauren Moffatt sweater I own. It reminds me of high school, and it’s got those varsity colors that with just a peek, brightened my whole look. Oh, I forgot to mention, this killer big blue coat is the one piece I lugged home from the Nifty Thrifty warehouse out in Williamsburg, one place where I gather all my vintage goodies! I have no idea who wore it before me, but it’s perfect, and just big enough to layer a ton underneath. I love battling the cold with something boxy on top, with skinnies on the bottom. This week may be another one of mixing and matching, as I run downtown and uptown between work and everything else in between. We’ve got one more week until our huge shoe event (or what looks like may be a carnival) at the factory…and looks like we’ve got a lot more surprises in the works that I can’t wait to release!
For now, join my go-to vintage warehouse, Nifty Thrifty, to shop my favorites!

DKNY: Behind the Lens

Woo! I finally have a bit of time to let you inside some of my latest projects. Here is just a sneaky peek inside my latest DKNY Fragrances shoot, shot by one of my favorite photographers, Carmen Chan, who was flown in to NYC all the way from Hong Kong. We worked together years ago in LA for another campaign shoot, and I am just so so happy to have had her back in NYC, even if it was just for this one day shoot. This time we were shooting DKNY’s “Be Delicious” as well as the new “pureDKNY” which just hit stores around the U.S! Our shoot was revolved around all the little corners of my world, even grabbing a few shots in my apartment before we wrapped. Right now i have both on my nightstand, and I still cannot decide which I love more. Luckily, getting to represent such an amazing brand, I will never ever run out of new scents to try.

Join us at the Factory!

We’ve been planning this event for months, and yes, like everything we do at the factory, it’s going to be over the top! It’s going to be a MYSTICAL night…with live performances by artists, ballerinas, and of course we have some amazing special musical performances 😉
With Andy Warhol’s artist “factory,” we got inspired and we’re making all our ideas that have gone through our head, a reality.
